Grzelcyk (lower body) skated on the Bruins' third defensive pairing with Kevan Miller at Tuesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
More importantly, per Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston, Grzelcyk shed his non-contact jersey Tuesday, which presumably puts him on track to play in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Capitals. With fellow mobile blueliner Torey Krug set to miss at least three weeks with an ankle injury, Grzelcyk is ticketed for regular ice time to start the season. If he ends up seeing second-unit power play duty, Grzelcyk could emerge as a fantasy sleeper early on. The 24-year-old already brings good wheels and stick skills to the table and if the extra work he put in on his shot this offseason pays off, he should easily eclipse his 2017-18 stats (3/12/15 in 61 games).

Coach Bruce Cassidy relayed Monday that Grzelcyk (lower body) is progressing well.
EDGE Analysis
With that in mind, the Bruins hope that Grzelcyk will be full-go at Tuesday's practice. If so, the mobile blueliner could be ready in advance of Wednesday's season opener against the Capitals. With Torey Krug set to miss three weeks with an ankle injury, regular ice time (perhaps even some power-play duty) awaits Grzelcyk, if healthy. Waiting in the wings should Grzelcyk miss Wednesday's game are Steven Kampfer iand rookie Urho Vaakanainen.

Grzelcyk (lower body) was on the ice for practice Monday, sporting a non-contact jersey.
EDGE Analysis
Grzelcyk appeared to be moving well, which would seem to give him a shot to play Wednesday against the Capitals. Meanwhile, Torey Krug (lower body) is looking iffy for the Bruins' season opener, which could possibly pave the way for rookie Urho Vaakanainen to open the 2018-19 campaign with the big club.

Grzelcyk is dealing with a lower-body injury, Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston reports.
EDGE Analysis
As a result, Grzelcyk won't play Saturday against the Flyers, but it is hoped that he'll be ready in advance of this coming Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Capitals. Following the trade of Adam McQuaid to the Rangers, the Bruins are slated to head into the coming campaign with seven legitimate blue-line options, meaning that one will need to be made a healthy scratch when all are healthy. That depth could allow the Bruins to ease Grzelcyk back in, but once he's good to go, the 24-year-old's wheels, quick hands and ability in the transition game will be assets to the team's blue line corps.

Grzelcyk has bulked up this summer, the Boston Herald reports. "Just seeing if a little extra weight will help me in the corners," he said. "As long as I can still be quick, make quick plays and quick passes up to forwards. I think it will be beneficial to me."
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old defenseman signed a two-year extension with the Bruins in June. Fresh off a 2017-18 campaign in which he added three goals and 12 assists over 61 games, Grzelcyk will look to crack to Opening Night roster, despite the Bruins bringing in veteran John Moore on a five-year deal. Grzelyck is lauded for his rigid work ethic and a keen awareness of his own play, so we'd expect him to continue working hard to get where he needs to be.

Grzelcyk signed a two-year deal worth $1.4 million per year Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Grzelcyk enjoyed a nice rookie season wherein he tallied 15 points in 61 games. The 24-year-old averaged 16:44 per contest in ice time, and saw 1:07 per game on the power play. With Zdeno Chara getting up there in years, Grzelcyk could be in for a bigger role next season.

Grzelcyk (lower body) will slot into Thursday's Game 4 against the Maple Leafs, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic Boston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Grzelcyk was expected to draw in after taking line rushes during morning skate, and that's indeed the case as he pairs with Adam McQuaid. He should retake his spot on the power play as well in his return, granting him some value in daily formats despite limited ice time overall.

Coach Bruce Cassidy relayed that Grzelcyk (lower body) "should be good to go" for Thursday night's playoff game against the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
The mobile blueliner is termed a game-time decision, but we'd be surprised if Grzelcyk wasn't able to return to action Thursday after missing Monday's Game 3. Assuming Grzelcyk re-enters the lineup, 5-foot-9, 174-pounder's wheels and ability in the transition game should prove to be valuable assets with regard to countering Toronto's speedy forward corps.

Grzelcyk (lower body) appears set to take part in Thursday's Game 4 against Toronto, with head coach Bruce Cassidy stating that it's "looking like he's got a good chance to play [Thursday]."
EDGE Analysis
Despite a solid performance turned in by Nick Holden -- who was taking Grzelcyk's place in the lineup -- during Game 3, the B's would be thrilled to get the Boston University product back into game action. Grzelcyk isn't much of a point producer at this stage of his career, putting up 15 points in 61 contests during the regular season, he's a great skater with good hands and is reliable in his own zone. Playing in the first two games of the series, Grzelcyk averaged 2:51 of power-play time on ice, which gives him the potential for some additional fantasy value.

Grzelcyk (lower body) will skate Wednesday, Michael Tolvo of the Bruins' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Bruce Cassidy hinted that Grzelcyk's injury isn't viewed as a long-term situation, with the team hopeful that some time off the ice will have helped the mobile blueliner in advance of Thursday night's game. Nick Holden filled in for Grzelcyk in Monday's 4-2 playoff loss to the Maple Leafs, but Cassidy confirmed Tuesday that Grzelcyk will re-join the lineup as soon as he is healthy enough to do so. The five-foot-9, 174-pounder logged just 15 points in 61 games this past season, but Grzelcyk's quick wheels and stick were assets to the Bruins' defensive corps and helped the 24-year-old carve out a plus-21 rating.
