Carle (hip) has been activated from injured reserve and will play Saturday against the Jets, Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Carle, who has missed the last two months following abdominal surgery, has been practicing for the last several days and should be in line for his usual 20 minutes of ice time upon returning. His return comes at a convenient time for the Bolts, who lost trade-deadline acquisition Braydon Coburn (lower body) for 4-to-6 weeks just a few days earlier. Carle is slated to pair up with Jason Garrison on Saturday.

Carle (hip) could make his return to the lineup Saturday against the Jets, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Carle took part in battle drills during Tuesday's morning skate and was encouraged by experiencing no new soreness a day after the session. The Lightning will see how he progresses in practices the next two days before making a call on his status for Saturday.

Carle (hip) will likely continue to experience soreness once he returns to the lineup, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Carle took part in battle drills during Tuesday's morning session and has been practicing for the better part of two weeks now, so his pending return would seem to simply hinge on how much pain he's able to tolerate. The blueliner could be in the lineup Thursday against the Bruins, but the Lightning may give him a few more days off in order to prepare for a return over the weekend. With the Bolts adding Braydon Coburn from the Flyers at the trade deadline, look for Carle to take on a reduced role upon his return to action.

Carle (hip) said Saturday that he anticipates returning to the Bolts' lineup next Saturday against the Jets, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Carle didn't close off the possibility of a return for the final game of the team's road trip Thursday in Boston, but that would seem to represent a best-case scenario for the blueliner. He's been out since January after going surgery to repair torn adductor muscles in his hip. Look for him to resume taking increased contact in practices within the next few days.

Coach Jon Cooper indicated that Carle (abdominal surgery) may be cleared to return to the lineup at some point during the Bolts' two-game road trip kicks off Tuesday in Montreal, NHL.com's Bryan Burns reports. If Carle indeed returns during the trip, Cooper suggested the second game in Boston on Thursday would represent the most realistic target for getting back in the lineup. The blueliner resumed taking full-contact practice a few days ago and seems to be making decent progress.

Carle (abdominal surgery) shed his no-contact jersey for Wednesday's practice and is hoping to return next week, reports the St. Petersburg Times. He's been sidelined since January. "For me, it (the practice) was good," Carle said. He needs to get himself into game shape, so expect him to be eased back slowly, especially with the addition of Braydon Coburn.

Coach Jon Cooper said Thursday that Carle (abdomen) is still at least two weeks away from a return, Bryan Burns of NHL.com reports. Carle participated in nearly every drill at Thursday's practice, but the Lightning evidently want him to get several sessions under his belt before greenlighting his activation from injured reserve. He's been out since mid-January with the torn abductor muscle, so he might also need further time to get his conditioning up to par.

Carle (abdomen) did some skating and participated in a few non-contact drills with the team at Tuesday's practice, Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Carle has missed the last five weeks while recovering from surgery to repair his abdominal muscles. Coach Jon Cooper acknowledged that while Carle won't be ready to play Friday against the Blackhawks, the Lightning hope to have him available at some point during the first week of March.

Carle (hip) participated in drills for the first time since undergoing abdominal surgery in January, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.Carle's initial timetable for a return was six-to-eight weeks, and it appears that he'll return right around the middle of that estimation as he's on track to return in early-to-mid March. Any sign of progress is encouraging, but he still seems to be at least two weeks away from game action.

Carle got on the ice and did some skating after Tampa Bay's practice on Saturday, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.Carle is now in week four of his six-to-eight week recovery time table. While it's certainly promising that Carle was able to get back onto the ice on Saturday, he likely won't return to game action for at least another weak.
