Mathieu Perreault sustained a sprained wrist in Friday's win over Ottawa. He is considered day-to-day. Perreault has fit in nicely with the Ducks since being acquired from Washington. He has four goals and five assists in 11 matches this season.

Mathieu Perreault (lower body) was back at practice Friday. A day after leaving with the injury, the center was good enough to skate and practice, which is certainly a good sign. Perreault has two goals and five points in four games.

Mathieu Perreault scored and assisted for the Ducks in their 4-3 win over the Wild on Saturday night. The new acquisition is already paying immediate dividends for Anaheim, which traded for him at the end of training camp. The center scored with five seconds left in overtime. Saku Koivu, Nick Bonino and Jacob Silfverberg potted the other markers in the win.

The Anaheim Ducks grabbed Mathieu Perreault via a trade with the Washington Capitals on Sunday. The Ducks gave up marginal forward John Mitchell and a 2014 first-round pick for Perreault. The 25-year-old provides a little extra scoring punch and speed for Bruce Boudreau, who became familiar with him from their time in Washington. Perreault never really found his niche with the Caps despite great AHL numbers, so maybe Anaheim will be a better fit.

Mathieu Perreault might not make the Washington Capitals despite his one-way contract. Perreault comes with a $1.05 million cap hit and the team needs to clear up some space to make room for Tom Wilson. Washington might attempt to trade Perreault, but if that doesn't work out, they could still put him in the minors and get some cap relief, even under the terms of the new CBA. It's worth emphasizing though that while Perreault doesn't appear to be a lock to make the team, he still might.

Mathieu Perreault has one year remaining on his current contract. Unfortunately, Mike Ribeiro's departure probably won't give him a top-six forward spot. It might present him with an opportunity to get more power-play time though. Perreault had six goals and 17 points in 39 games last season. If he wants to get a long-term deal then he'll have to be better.

Mathieu Perreault generated a goal and an assist in Washington's 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers Wednesday night. His first career playoff marker came just past the midway mark of the second period to get Washington on the scoreboard. Perreault has been productive in the playoffs with four points in four games. He had five shots in Game 4 after registering two in his previous three contests, so hopefully he's learned that he needs to shoot the puck more.

Mathieu Perreault almost went from hero to goat in Washington's 5-3 win over Winnipeg Tuesday night. He recorded what held up as the game-winning goal late in the second period and collected an assist to help Washington win the Southeast Division with a victory over Winnipeg. However, his third-period penalty gave the Jets an opportunity to tie the contest late in the contest. The Capitals killed the penalty and Alex Ovechkin sealed the win with his 31st goal of the year into an empty net. Perreault's linemate, Jason Chimera, and Nicklas Backstrom also had a goal and a helper in the match, while Matt Hendricks also scored for the Capitals in an emotional win.

Mathieu Perreault's visor broke in the third period of Tuesday's loss to the Islanders and according to coach Adam Oates, it ended up cutting the Capitals forward "pretty good." He received stitches after the game, but Oates didn't appear to be concerned that it would cost Perreault to miss any time.
