While there's no sugar-coating a six-spot, Jones did stand tall after the Caps took a 6-4 lead early in the third period, giving the Sharks a chance to mount a comeback. There's little to like about the netminder's current form, however -- Jones has given up at least five goals in three straight starts, leaving him with a 2,98 GAA and .895 save percentage on the season, by far the worst numbers of his career.

Jones was pulled in the third period after allowing five goals on 21 shots in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers.

Jones has now allowed 11 goals while facing just 47 shots in his last two outings immediately following an eight-game winning streak. His GAA has jumped to 2.89 along with an ugly .897 save percentage. Jones likely won't be back in the net until after the All-Star break, giving him plenty of time to fix his game.

Jones failed in his bid for a ninth-straight win, but he was in tough -- the Bolts are the NHL's elite. And they rang him up for six goals, the same number Jones had allowed in total in four previous games combined. This was just an outlier -- Jones will rebound just fine next game.

San Jose's top netminder is in pursuit of his ninth straight victory, having knocked off a plethora of punchy offensive clubs over the heater, including the Avalanche, Penguins, and even this Bolts team back on Jan. 5. It's awfully tempting to keep going back to well with Jones, but there inevitably will be goalies with far better matchups for DFS purposes.

Jones will be on puck patrol versus the visiting Penguins on Tuesday.

This isn't a shocking development when you consider that Jones is taking aim at his eighth consecutive win. San Jose's chief puck plugger will now be challenged by a Penguins team that ranks fourth in the league in scoring at 3.56 goals per game, just one spot ahead of Team Teal and its 3.55 rate.

Jones is far from the most consistent goaltender around, but his owners were pretty pleased with his past three contests, where he's let in just four goals and handled both light and heavy workloads with ease. However, owners should proceed with caution: this marked the first time all year he has posted a save percentage above .925 in three consecutive games. That suggests his next rough night is coming, and given that Pittsburgh is the next opponent in the Shark Tank, it might be wise to go out on Jones' next start and come back against an easier opponent.
