Jones kept grinding though and played well enough the rest of the way that his team was able to claw its way back into the game, although the Flyers never found an equalizer. Jones now carries a rough 3.41 GAA on the season, but his .908 save percentage indicates the problem has been the shot volume he's faced, not his own performance.

After making a relief appearance for the Lightning on Sunday, Jones will still get the start for the second game of the club's back-to-back Monday. The veteran netminder has underwhelmed of late, as he is 0-3-1 with a 3.77 GAA in his last five contests.

Jones stopped 10 of 12 shots after replacing Carter Hart midway through the second period of Sunday's 7-1 loss to the Lightning.

Philadelphia needs to tighten up its defense in front of the backup netminder, as Jones has faced at least 40 shots in three of his six starts, but he's acquitting himself admirably in the reduced role after struggling as the starter in San Jose in recent years.
