Gaborik (foot) has been placed on injured reserve the Kings' announced Thursday, Jon Rosen of Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gaborik is expected to be out until late November after breaking his foot during the World Cup of Hockey. The winger has struggled with injuries the last several years, as he's failed to reach the 70-game mark in any of the previous four seasons. Perhaps as a result of the lack of ice time, the 34-year-old has seen a drop in productivity and managed a mere 12 goals and 10 helpers during the 2015-16 campaign, which should be a red flag for fantasy owners.

Gaborik (foot) will be re-evaluated in about ten days and hasn't been able to begin his rehab process as of yet, LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gaborik's inability to put any weight on his broken foot figures to hinder his rehab program as a result but the Kings should have a better idea on his status after the re-evaluation.

Kings general manager Dean Lombardi indicated Monday that Gaborik (foot) will likely miss eight weeks, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Gaborik's play at the World Cup could have served as a means to get him into game shape ahead of the NHL season, it instead turned out as a disaster for both he and the Kings. After posting just 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists) over 54 games last season, the veteran was looking for a bounceback season in 2016-17. While that may still be the case, potential fantasy owners will need to factor in lost time to begin the season.

Gaborik (foot) will miss the remainder of the World Cup for Team Europe and could be sidelined for the start of the NHL season, Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
The loss of Gaborik will be a huge blow to underdog Team Europe who are already going to be tested by the speed and skill of Team Canada. Perhaps more importantly for fantasy owners, the winger's status for the start of the 2016-17 campaign is now in question. The veteran had a down year, last season as he garnered a paltry 22 points. When factoring in the drop in production, plus injury concerns, owners may want to shy away from utilizing Gaborik until he can show he still has some left in the tank.

Gaborik's status is uncertain, as he injured his lower body in the second period of Sunday's game but was able to return, Renaud Lavoie of the Journal de Montreal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Team Europe is still waiting to find out more information about Gaborik's status. There will likely be more updates on the information they find out in the near future.

Gaborik scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's World Cup of Hockey opener against Team USA.
EDGE Analysis
Team Europe pulled off the upset against the Americans and Gaborik played a starring role. The Los Angeles sniper converted a beautiful pass from Frans Nielsen and got the scoring started for Team Europe. The Kings will be hoping Gaborik continues to score at the World Cup and can improve on the mere 12 goals he scored in the 2015-16 NHL season.

Gaborik logged 14:32 minutes of ice time and registered four shots in his return to the lineup in Game 2 on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Gaborik had been sidelined with a knee injury since February 12 and was fairly effective despite not registering a point in his first game back. He'll look to jump start a Kings' team that finds itself on an 0-2 series deficit against the Sharks.

Gaborik (knee) has been medically cleared to return, but an official decision on whether he'll play in Game 2 on Saturday night won't be determined until after pregame warmups, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Yep, it's that dreaded game-time call, making it tough on fantasy owners that need to get their lineups in on time. To avoid a potential goose egg, conservative players will want to avoid this situation altogether. Gabroik hasn't played in over two months and even when healthy, he hasn't been able to establish much of an offensive rhythm. His 14:57 of ice time in the regular season was a career low, and the 14-year-old vet only managed 22 points in 54 games, which is poor by his standards.

Gaborik (knee) skated with the team Tuesday but still hasn't been cleared for contact and isn't expected to be ready for the start of the playoffs, the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Kings were hopeful that Gaborik might be available for the start of the playoffs but that appears to be out of the picture now. He'll look to get back into gear with an eye towards a return if the Kings are able to advance.
