Coach John Hynes relayed Saturday that there has been no timetable placed on Johansson's (concussion) return to the ice, Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson doesn't appear to be in a position to rejoin the lineup in the near future, with his date to even resume skating remaining unclear. Returning to the ice for a solo skate is likely the first step in Johansson's recovery road. That should be followed by a return to practice and eventual clearance from the concussion protocol.

Johansson (head) will be held out for the 10th consecutive game Thursday, when the Devils play host to the Hurricanes, Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Johansson continues to endure off-ice workouts, per the report, one cannot realistically expect him to return until he gets in a practice or two. His next opportunity to play would arrive Saturday against Tampa Bay, but even that looks like wishful thinking at this point.

Johansson (head) traveled to Columbus ahead of Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets, but he will not play in the upcoming contest, Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson remains on injured reserve, but we wouldn't underestimate the significance of his traveling with the team. When players stay back home, it generally means that they're only able to skate on their own and absorbing contact is certainly out of the question. Expect the Devils to reevaluate him once again ahead of Sunday's clash with the Bruins.

Johansson (head) worked out off the ice Thursday, Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
While this is an encouraging development, the Devils did not say that Johansson would be ready for the evening's contest against the Flames, so we'll have to see if he travels to Columbus for Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets. Lost in Johansson's injury news is the fact that he's averaging .48 points per game this season; that's a decent clip considering he's logging about 16 minutes of ice time per game and has had to adjust to new surroundings after seven years with the Capitals.

Johansson (head) is still on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson still hasn't returned to practice with his teammates, and he remains without a definite timetable for his return to game action. The 27-year-old winger is currently working his way back from the second head injury he's suffered in as many months, so the Devils will undoubtedly proceed with extreme caution with his recovery.

Johansson (head) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson will be eligible to return against Buffalo next Tuesday, but whether or not he'll be healthy enough to play in that one is another story. The Devils recalled Kevin Rooney from AHL Binghamton ahead of Thursday's home game facing the Predators.

Johansson (head) will not play Thursday night against the Predators, Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson was on the receiving end of an elbow hit from Boston's Brad Marchand on Tuesday, which ended up resulting in a five-game ban for the talented yet comburent forward. We'd expect the Devils to make some AHL call-ups since a number of players are injured ahead of the next contest.

Johansson left Tuesday's matchup with the Bruins late in the third period with an apparent head injury, Matt Kalman of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson was the recipient of an elbow to the head from Boston's Brad Marchand -- who will have a phone hearing with the Department of Player Safety on Wednesday. The 26-year-old Johansson previously missed 13 games due to a concussion, so there are understandable fears he may have suffered a similar injury. The Devils won't practice Wednesday, per Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record, which means an update on the winger will likely have to wait until after Thursday's game-day skate.

Johansson tied for the team lead with four shots on goal, but he also posted a minus-1 rating in Monday's 3-0 loss to Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
While New Jersey's exceeded expectations tremendously in Johansson's first year with the club, the former Capitals forward hasn't played much of a role in that success. He's appeared in only 28 games this season and has a minus-12 rating to go with 13 points.

Johansson set up both New Jersey goals Saturday in a 5-2 loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
So, he now has three points in his last two games. But his 10 points in 20 games thus far pale in comparison to his 58-point finish in 2016-17. Johansson has very limited fantasy value unless he ups the ante on his game.
