As expected, Johansson (lower body) is in the projected lineup for Wednesday's clash with the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson has enjoyed a solid start to the season, notching three goals and two assists in nine games, but his offensive output should only continue to improve as he builds chemistry with his new teammates throughout the campaign. The 27-year-old forward will return to his role skating on the Devils' second line and second power-play unit against Vancouver.

Johansson (lower body) told reporters he should be ready for Wednesday's tilt against Vancouver, Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Johansson's five points in his first nine outings isn't a bad start to the season, it's not quite the pace he set last year when he notched 24 goals (a career high) and 34 helpers in 82 contests. Perhaps the winger's decrease in production is as simple as no longer playing with Alexander Ovechkin, but it should also be noted that his ice time per game this season (15:47) is over a minute less than he averaged in 2016-17 (17:00). In the even Johansson doesn't get cleared in time for Wednesday's matchup, the Devils would likely need to promote a player from the minors or suit up seven blueliners.

Johansson was a late scratch for Saturday's contest against the Coyotes due to a lower-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson has been a solid contributor for the Devils since coming over from Washington in the offseason, notching five points through nine games thus far this season. His next opportunity to rejoin the action arrives Wednesday against the Canucks, but Stefan Noesen will replace him in Saturday's lineup.

Johansson had a three-point game in a 6-2 win over Buffalo, notching two goals and an assist on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Johansson showed he can still produce in the red of the Devils after coming over from the Capitals. He had a career year in the nation's capital last season, and it looks like he's adapting well to his new surroundings. He should be a solid option moving forward.

Johansson (finger) was traded to the Devils on Sunday
EDGE Analysis
The move comes shortly after the Caps re-signed Evgeny Kuznetsov to a contract that left them with very little cap room with which to round out their roster. Drafted 24th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Johansson had spent his entire career with the Capitals having amassed 102 goals and 290 points in 501 career games in D.C. The 26-year-old forward had a breakout campaign in 2016-17 with 58 points in 82 games. It's reasonable to expect a slight regression in 2017-18 given that he will no longer be working on a vaunted power-play unit, but Johansson should still have a large enough role to turn in another solid campaign.

Johansson will not be exposed for the upcoming Expansion Draft, Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Swedish winger had his best season yet, potting 24 goals and adding 34 helpers in 82 games. What is most impressive is his monstrous plus-25 rating, showing he can play on both ends of the ice. Being only 26 years of age, combined with a fair cap hit of just over $4.5 million, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he'll be staying with the Caps for now.

Johansson (finger) had 24 goals and 58 points along with a plus-25 rating in 82 games.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old, had his best season in the pros during 2016-17 after inking a three-year, $13.75 million deal last summer. Firmly entrenched as a top-six forward, the former first-round pick from the 2009 NHL Draft has carved out some solid fantasy value for the foreseeable future and should be strongly considered in upcoming fantasy drafts.

Johansson (finger) will not play at the World Championship, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It isn't clear when the Swedish winger suffered the injury, although he was notably ineffective in Washington's final two games so it's likely he was dealing with the ailment by that point. Check back for further updates as the offseason progresses, but there's no indication at this point that his availability for the start of 2016-17 is in any jeopardy.

Johansson set up an even-strength goal in Wednesday's 3-2 road loss to the Penguins for Game 4.
EDGE Analysis
The fleet-footed Swede was credited with a secondary helper on Evgeny Kuznetsov's fourth goal of these playoffs. Fantasy owners of Johansson in playoff pools find themselves in a perilous position, as the Capitals must win the next three games against the defending Stanley Cup champions in order to advance to the conference finals.

Johansson scored the game-tying goal and also scored in overtime in Sunday's series-clinching Game 6 win over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
A clutch effort from Johansson, who had managed three helpers in the previous five games. He plays on the second line with Evgeny Kuznetsov and Justin Williams, but has never been known for being a big-time playoff performer. That could change now, however, as he scored one of the biggest goals of his career Sunday and should look to build upon that in Round 2 against Pittsburgh. After netting a career-high 58 points this season, Johansson is destined to be a key part of Washington's playoff run this year.
