Marcus Foligno (shoulder) was moved to Buffalo's injured reserve list on Monday. He isn't expected to be available for Buffalo's 2013-14 opener on Wednesday night at Detroit. The Sabres also put defenseman Nikita Zadorov (finger) as well as forwards Corey Tropp (jaw) and Joel Armia (hand) on injured reserve to start the year.

It's just some things aren't working. I thought I had some good games, and just consistency is an area I've got to work on." He took a step back in 2013 after recording 13 points in just 14 appearances during the 2011-12 campaign. Foligno wants to be better next year.
