Marcus Foligno has been selected as the rookie of the month for March. After spending most of the season in the minors, Foligno was called up in early March and has taken off. He had six goals and 11 points in 11 games last month. We wouldn't be surprised if Foligno gets another point or two in the final week of the season.

With six goals in his fisrt nine NHL games, Marcus Foligno has joined an elite group of active players that have scored six or more goals in their first nine career games. Teemu Selanne (8), Evgeni Malkin (8), Devin Setoguchi (7), Ilya Kovalchuk (6) and Alex Ovechkin (6) are the current members of that club. "It's huge to contribute. I didn't have the best game, but it was good to get that goal," said Foligno after recording his sixth marker of the season. Foligno has enjoyed great success since joining a line with Tyler Ennis and Drew Stafford and is worth a look in deeper leagues.

Marcus Foligno netted two goals in Buffalo's dominating win against Tampa Bay on Monday. Since returning to the Sabres' lineup back on Mar. 10, the 20-year-old forward has racked up five goals and two assists to formulate a five-game scoring streak. Foligno has enjoyed great success since joining a line with Tyler Ennis and Drew Stafford.

Marcus Foligno scored twice in a 5-4 shootout loss to Colorado on Wednesday. Alexander Sulzer netted his first goal of the season. Drew Stafford had a shorthanded goal and two assists for Buffalo. Tyler Ennis assisted on three of Buffalo's four goals.

Marcus Foligno was called up from the minors on Saturday March 10.

The Buffalo Sabres have called up Marcus Foligno. Although it's possible that Foligno will play in Saturday's game, it looks like he was primarily called up for insurance purposes. With Robyn Regehr (hip) sidelined, the Sabres were out of healthy scratches.

Marcus Foligno has been returned to AHL Rochester. Patrick Kaleta and Brad Boyes are close to returning to Buffalo's lineup from injury, so the 20-year-old will continue to hone his skills in the minors after making his NHL debut on Tuesday.

Marcus Foligno made his NHL debut on Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators and his older brother, Nick Foligno. "It's exciting for me, exciting for [Nick], exciting for the family," Marcus said prior to the game. "He was pretty pumped. He was texting me all day [Monday] to see if I was getting called up. He was giving me advice. He's been doing that all year." The brothers had about 30 family and friends make the trek from Sudbury, Ontario to watch the match. Marcus recorded one shot in 13:19 of ice time.

Marcus Foligno has been promoted by the Buffalo Sabres. Foligno is an AHL rookie with 12 points and 33 penalty minutes in 27 games with Rochester this season. He might make his NHL debut on Tuesday.
