Fleury made 20 saves in a 6-1 romp over the Sabres on Saturday. The Penguins scored two goals before Buffalo attempted a single shot and Fleury cruised to a relatively easy victory. The Flower has seen heavy duty, playing in 11 of Pittsburgh's first 13 games and compiling a 9-2 record. Coach Mike Johnston said backup Thomas Greiss will start in four or five November games, making it likely that Fleury starts two of three tilts in Week 6 with back-to-back contests Friday and Saturday.

Fleury will start Saturday's game against the Sabres, Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Fleury has been on fire lately, with five straight wins and three shutouts in his last five starts. He'll get the call again Saturday against an anemic Sabres offense, and should be in good position to continue his stingy play.

Fleury made 34 saves through overtime and stopped two of three shootout attempts in a 4-3 victory over Winnipeg on Thursday. Fleury looked good in his first outing since signing a four-year, $23 million contract extension Wednesday. He came up particularly big on a third-period, Zach Bogosian breakaway. Fleury, who won his fifth straight decision Thursday, improved to 8-2-1. He's allowed six goals in those last five starts and has three shutouts to boot. The Penguins and Fleury travel to Buffalo on Saturday in a rematch of last Saturday's 5-0 win by Pittsburgh (and Fleury).

Fleury will be in the net Thursday against the Jets, AM 680 CJOB Sports reports. A day after inking a new four-year extension with the Penguins, Fleury will return to the net in search of his fifth straight victory. He's shut out the opposition in three of his last four starts and ranks in the league's top 10 in wins, goals-against average and save percentage.

Fleury signed a four-year, $23 million extension with the Penguins on Wednesday. While he hasn't quite emerged as the perennial Vezina Trophy contender that the Penguins had hoped for when they selected him No. 1 overall in 2003, Fleury has safely been one of the league's better goalies over the past several seasons. With no obvious long-term goalie solution in their minor league or junior ranks and with Fleury likely representing the top netminder on the free agency market next summer, the Pens decided to re-sign the 29-year-old before his price escalated on the open market. Fleury's magnificent play to begin the season (7-2-0, 1.89 GAA and .931 save percentage in nine games) likely motivated the Penguins to speed up the negotiations and lock him in on a new deal.

Fleury could receive more time off in November than he did last month, according to Penguins head coach Mike Johnston. Fleury tallied three shutouts in his last four games, so he won't be losing any playing time due to performance. Rather, it seems that Johnston wants to avoid burning him out early, as he said he will try to use backup goaltender Thomas Greiss -- who started just once in October -- four or five times this month. Johnston will check off at least one of those starts by giving Greiss the nod Tuesday against the Wild.

Fleury rang up his third shutout in four starts Saturday, stopping 18 shots in a 5-0 blanking of Buffalo. The Pittsburgh goalie has strung together a scoreless run of 154 minutes and 46 seconds, just short of Tomas Vokoun's team record (162:42). Fleury holds an 0-5 career mark against Minnesota -- the Pens' next opponent -- so something will have to give, unless the team decides to start backup Thomas Greiss.

Fleury will be between the pipes Saturday against the Sabres, Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. The Penguins will unsurprising stick with Fleury after he turned in his best outing of the season Thursday, shutting out the Kings with a 36-save effort. Fleury is riding a three-game win streak and has two shutouts during that span, and the offensively-challenged Sabres don't figure to disrupt his rhythm.

Fleury stopped all 36 shots that came his way Thursday in a 3-0 win over the Sharks. It's his second shutout of the year, and both have come in his last three outings. He's not much good for your playoff pool, but Fleury always delivers good ratios and tons of wins in the regular season.

Fleury is in line to start Tuesday's game against the Devils, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Fleury was the first goalie off the ice following Tuesday's morning skate, which puts him on track to start Tuesday night. He will look to stay hot after pitching a shutout in his last start Saturday.
