Visnovsky exited Tuesday's Game 4 against the Capitals with an undisclosed injury, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports. Visnovsky took a huge hit from the Caps' Tom Wilson, bloodying the defenseman's face and sending him to the locker room. The nature of Visnovsky's injury should be made available at the conclusion of the game, but his absence will force the team to get by with five defensemen for the time being.

Visnovsky picked up an assist and put three shots on net in Sunday's Game 3 win over the Capitals. The 38-year-old was limited to just 53 games during the regular season, but he's come on strong of late for the Islanders now that he seems to be back to full health. He's notched a goal and seven assists over his last 11 games, dating back to March 13.

Visnovsky scored his fifth goal of the season in the Islanders 3-2 loss to Anaheim on Saturday. The goal had to feel good for Visnovsky who had missed the past five games with a lower body injury. He has not had the season that neither he nor the Isles wanted and has also been a healthy scratch at times but with the team currently in an offensive slump he should remain back in the lineup as long as he stays healthy.

Visnovsky (lower body) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Ducks, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports. Visnovsky will draw into the lineup for Calvin de Haan after skating the last two days without any complications. The 38-year-old missed the Isles' previous five games with the injury.

Visnovsky (lower body) may return for Saturday's game against the Ducks, Brett Cyrgalis of the New York Post reports. Visnovsky skated both Thursday and Friday, but he remains uncertain for the upcoming weekend. His return has already been delayed a couple of times.

Visnovsky (lower body) was able to get in a skate Thursday, but it's not clear when he might get back into the lineup. Coach Jack Capuano indicated after Visnovsky's skate that there was "no rush" to get the blueliner any action, so it seems as though he'll be brought along slowly while he recovers from the injury. The former top-tier defenseman looks to be a shell of himself at this point, as health issues have limited him to a combined 105 games over the last three seasons. With the Islanders boosting more depth than ever on the blue line with this year's additions of Johnny Boychuk and Nick Leddy, the 38-year-old Visnovsky simply isn't needed to take on a large role.

Visnovsky (lower body) didn't practice Wednesday, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple. Visnovsky practiced with the team Monday and has been skating with the team for a couple of days prior so it would seem he suffered some sort of setback to not take to the ice Wednesday. There is no word from the Isles however if this was the case or if the team just thought it was best to give him a day off.

Visnovsky (lower body) is getting closer to returning to game action, according to the Islanders Point Blank. Visnovsky has been skating before practice for a few days now but Monday was his first practice with the team since suffering the injury. He won't return for Tuesday's tilt versus the Wild but could play Thursday against the Kings.

Visnovsky (lower body) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Devils. Visnovsky was able to get in a skate prior to Thursday's practice, suggesting that his injury isn't being viewed as a long-term concern. Though the aging blueliner won't be available for the weekend, coach Jack Capuano is hopeful that Visnovsky will be back at some point next week.

Visnovsky is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Visnovsky won't play Tuesday against Chicago, with his status for Saturday's game against New Jersey now cloudy as well in light of the report that he is dealing with an injury.
