Ullmark has been sent down to Rochester of the AHL after Robin Lehner, who's missed nearly the entire season to date after suffering an ankle injury in the first game of the season, was officially recalled from Rochester of the AHL on Thursday, The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Veteran Chad Johnson gets to stay with the Sabres, as Ullmark is the younger player and will be best served playing nearly every game for the Amerks instead of riding pine behind Lehner. That said, the lowly Sabres say they'll be sellers yet again as the trade deadline approaches, so Johnson could end up getting shopped to a contending team looking for an experienced No. 2.

Ullmark denied 28 of 30 shot attempts by the Wild in Tuesday's 3-2 victory.
EDGE Analysis
It's nice to see Ullmark turn in consecutive strong efforts in what could be his last hurrah as a Sabre for a while. With Robin Lehner due to return later this week, it seems likely that Ullmark gets sent to the AHL while Chad Johnson resumes his backup role. The results weren't always consistent for the 22-year-old Swede over these last couple months, but he's certainly had some impressive moments that have elevated his long-term value.

Ullmark will protect the crease against Islanders on Tuesday, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ullmark was expected to head back to the AHL, pending the return of fellow netminder Robin Lehner from injury. The Sabres, however, will turn to the 22-year-old who is 1-1-0 against the Islanders this season, allowing three goals on 63 shots in those outings.

Ullmark will return to AHL Rochester upon the impending return of Robin Lehner (high ankle sprain), reports The Buffalo News.
EDGE Analysis
It's possible that Sunday's win against the Jets, in which Ullmark made 42 saves, will be his last start as a Sabre for a while. Lehner is "close" to returning, and despite Ullmark's strong play, his development will be better served in the AHL. Long-term, he's seen as Buffalo's goalie of the future, but the Sabres want him to get experience and see a lot of pucks. Lehner should re-assume his starting role when he returns.

Ullmark turned away 42 of 44 shots in Sunday's win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
It was likely the best performance of the season for Ullmark, but he was able to withstand a heavy attack all game and was perfect for the final 39 minutes of the contest. Robin Lehner is due back soon from an ankle injury, so Ullmark will need more outings like Sunday's to help keep his NHL roster spot when the regular starter returns.

Ullmark will start in goal Sunday against the Jets, Mike Harrington of Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ullmark allowed four goals on 26 shots in his last start Tuesday against the Panthers, but the Sabres will once again look his way Sunday. It's unclear how long the team plans to stick with three netminders, but it seems like he may be the odd one out if they decided to send one elsewhere. For now, Ullmark will get another chance between the pipes, but it sounds as though Robin Lehner will return to the net some time next weekend.

Ullmark coughed up four goals on 26 shots Tuesday in a 4-1 loss to Florida.
EDGE Analysis
The young, up-and-coming Panthers are doing much of what the Sabres hoped to do this year, except Buffalo lacks the reliable veteran presence of Roberto Luongo between the pipes. Instead, they've mixed and matched with Ullmark and Chad Johnson with Robin Lehner out thanks to an ankle injury. It's been an up-and-down ride for the Swedish rookie, but he'd given up a total of just seven goals in the four outings prior to this one. Of course, the Sabres have only scored a total of two goals in his last four starts, unsurprisingly resulting in four losses.

Ullmark is slated to be the starter Tuesday when Buffalo hosts Florida, reports Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald.
EDGE Analysis
This will be Ullmark's first start for the 2016 calendar year after Chad Johnson lost 4-3 against Detroit on Saturday. Ullmark has lost his past two games, but also has not allowed more than two goals in those two starts. The Panthers are flying high and prowling for the division title, posing a tough challenge for Ullmark, but the young Swedish netminder has brought his "A" game in recent starts.

Ullmark made 31 saves Thursday in a 2-1 loss to the Islanders. He was the game's third star.
EDGE Analysis
He made several brilliant saves in what was a battle of netminders. Ullmark has been great in his last four starts -- he allowed two or fewer goals in all four of those games, but his mates only tallied three goals total in support. Ugh. No Buffalo goalie is a good fantasy option right now.

Ullmark will be between the pipes in Thursday's game against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Ullmark was sharp in his last outing, turning away 24 of 26 shots, but didn't get any help from his teammates, ultimately suffering a 2-0 loss to the Capitals on Monday. He'll look to bounce back Thursday in a relatively tough matchup with an Islanders team averaging 2.70 goals per game this season, 12th in the NHL.
