Okposo also registered an assist in the game and he now has nine goals and 19 assists in 32 games this season. Thomas Vanek scored the other goal for the Islanders, who snapped their ten game losing streak.

If you delve a little bit deeper into the key indicators for fantasy success (time on ice, power play time on ice and shots on goal), Okposo has had some very favourable numbers (19:58, 4:44 and 29 respectively) despite the lack of production. If he manages to continue to garner that type of responsibility, but have better luck in terms of puck bounces, Okposo could easily replicate the 19 points in 13 games streak he had earlier this season. Now is a great time to "buy low" on him before the production takes off.

Kyle Okposo has had a career resurgence this season, but it's not entirely surprising. Okposo currently has 20 points in 20 games, which has come to a surprise to many poolies, but the main reason behind his success has been the fact that he's been given the green light in terms of ice-time. During the past three seasons, Okposo had overall ice-time per game averages of 16:57, 17:04 and 16:34. This season it's at a whopping 20 minutes even per game (ranked 49th among all forwards). It also doesn't hurt that he's essentially attached to the hip of superstar in John Tavares (close to 90 percent of his overall shifts). As long as Okposo maintains this role, he'll continue to produce at an elevated rate. The real question for poolies, is whether or not you want to gamble on whether or not he cements this role for the entire season.

He has four goals and 17 points in 14 games this season. Okposo has been playing with Tavares and that's certainly helped. He'll slow down as the season progresses, but Okposo should surpass his career-high of 52 points.

He didn't score on Oct. 29, but managed six PIM. Before that, he had a five-game point streak (three goals and four assists).
