Kyle Clifford scored the Kings' lone goal in their 3-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
Known primarily as a tough guy, Clifford has put together two solid offensive games to start the year. He has three points in the Kings' first two contests. Fantasy players shouldn't rush to the waiver wire to acquire the 22-year-old though, as he recorded just 26 points over the past two seasons with Los Angeles. Nonetheless, the start is surprising.

Tough guy Kyle Clifford signed with the Los Angeles Kings' ECHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign, on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old spent the entire 2011-12 season with the Kings. He's not an offensive threat, but he did tally 123 PIMs in 81 games last season. Look for Clifford to do more of the same with the Reign.

Look for Kyle Clifford to be a healthy scratch on Sunday.
Clifford has played in the last two games, his first action since suffering a concussion in Game 1 against the Canucks but will likely be the odd man out with Colin Fraser returning to the lineup after missing both games due to family reasons.

Kyle Clifford suited up in Game 2 versus Phoenix on Tuesday night.
It marked his first game since the Kings' playoff opener against Vancouver because of a concussion. Clifford played in the place of Colin Fraser, who missed the match because of family reasons. He recorded two penalty minutes and two shots in 7:10 of ice time.

Coach Darryl Sutter has announced that Kyle Clifford has been cleared to return from his concussion, but he probably won't suit up in Game 3 against St. Louis on Thursday night.
He stayed on the ice after his teammates left for the locker room for extra conditioning work and hasn't played since Apr. 11 when he was injured in Game 1 versus Vancouver. Sutter didn't say when Clifford would return to action.

Kyle Clifford's upper body injury is a concussion.
That's not much of a surprise, based on what was previously reported. Clifford is feeling better and was able to participate in the Kings' skate on Saturday. That being said, he's still day-to-day.

Kyle Clifford (upper body) didn't take part in the Kings' practice on Saturday.
Clifford also missed Friday's skate, so he shouldn't be counted on to play in Game 5 on Sunday. He had 12 points and 123 penalty minutes in 81 regular season games.

Kyle Clifford (upper body) skated for the second straight day on Thursday.
The Kings did not practice yesterday so Clifford skated by himself. He was hit into the boards in Game 1 by Byron Bitz and while the Kings call it an upper body injury, they also say that they are following 'protocol', so it sounds like a concussion. There is currently no timetable for his return.
