Panthers leading scorer Kris Versteeg has been sorely missed on the power play and overall since he's been sitting out with a lower-body injury. He will definitely return for some part of this four-game homestand.

Kris Versteeg's lower-body injury will prevent him from making the two-game trip through the Keystone State. The trips to Philadelphia (Thursday) and Pittsburgh (Friday) will bring the total of games Versteeg will have missed to six since suffering his injury against Montreal on Feb. 26. The Panthers are 2-2-0 without their leading scorer.

Kris Versteeg is hoping to get back on the ice this week after missing four games with what is believed to be a hip problem. The Panthers are scheduled to practice Tuesday and Wednesday before playing in Philadelphia on Thursday. Versteeg also said that his lower-body issue won't sidelined him for the remainder of the regular season and that he will be back.

The Panthers play three more times this week and although he is projected to sit out each of those matches, we'll keep you posted on his status.

Kris Versteeg assisted on the game-winning goal and recorded a tally of his own as the Florida Panthers handled the New York Islanders 4-1. Versteeg has three points (two goals) in his last two games to push his season totals to 22 goals and 48 points.
