Holl (face) won't play in Monday's game against Montreal, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic Toronto reports.

EDGE Analysis

Coach Sheldon Keefe said Sunday that Holl felt "uncomfortable" at practice, but he doesn't believe the defenseman will miss much more time beyond Monday's contest after taking a puck to the face Saturday. The 29-year-old has had a strong season to this point, recording 19 points, 75 hits, 77 blocks and a plus-11 rating through 51 games. With Holl sidelined, look for Timothy Liljegren to enter the lineup in his absence.

Holl notched a shorthanded assist, four shots on net and three hits in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Canucks.

EDGE Analysis

Holl helped out on Adam Brooks' tally in the third period. The 29-year-old Holl is at 15 points, 69 hits, 64 blocked shots, 44 shots on net, 23 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 46 contests. He's more of a defensive presence in the top four -- his fantasy appeal is a bit more limited due to only modest scoring.

Holl had four blocked shots and one hit in 22:21 of ice time in a 4-2 loss to the Canadiens.

EDGE Analysis

Holl has gone seven games without a point and his timing was off all game long on Monday. His reads were slow and the Habs were all over him. When he's "on," Holl has some fantasy value in deep formats. Unfortunately, he's from from that right now.

Holl registered a pair of assists with two shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to Edmonton.

EDGE Analysis

Holl figured in on both Toronto goals, setting up back-to-back tallies by Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews in the first period. Holl is in the midst of a season-best three-game point streak, amassing one goal and three assists with seven shots and a plus-3 rating in that stretch. The 28-year-old is known primarily for his defensive abilities, but he's managed to contribute 14 points through 35 games.

Holl scored the game-winning goal Thursday in a 3-2 win over Ottawa.

EDGE Analysis

Holl took a cross-ice pass from Mitch Marner deep in the slot and fired a wrister that beat Anton Forsberg high glove side with just 18 seconds remaining. Holl plays a more defensive style, but he looked every part the sharpshooter Thursday. He does have three points in his last eight games. Don't count on regular production from him, but Holl can help in deep leagues at times.

Holl continues to log heavy minutes with partner Jake Muzzin, and has 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in 30 games this season.

EDGE Analysis

Holl has made himself invaluable this season, so much so that he and Muzzin have become the North division's best at shutting down Edmonton's Connor McDavid. That's no small feat. Holl has contributed two assists in his last five games, and is averaging more than 21 minutes of ice a game (21:05). He's not an offensive wizard, but delivers enough to be considered for occasional use off the wire. At minimum, tune into a Oilers game and watch McSavior get frustrated by Holl's massive reach and ability to force him wide and out of play.

Holl entered Wednesday with just one assist in his last nine games, which came after he had four helpers in the first four outings of the year. The 29-year-old rearguard struck at 1:50 of the third period, giving the Maple Leafs a 2-1 lead. Holl is up to six points, a plus-6 rating, 26 hits and 23 blocked shots through 14 contests this season. His performance in non-scoring categories could make him worth a look in deeper formats.

Holl posted an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Flames.

EDGE Analysis

Holl set up Wayne Simmonds for the opening tally just 3:44 into the game. While he's not generating many headlines, the 28-year-old Holl has a solid five assists and a plus-5 rating through eight contests this season. He's averaging 21:38 per game on the second pairing, and his non-scoring numbers -- 13 hits, 14 blocked shots -- are solid. Fantasy managers in deeper formats could use Holl to fill out their virtual bench.

Holl picked up two assists in Monday's 3-1 win over the Jets.

EDGE Analysis

The 28-year-old blueliner notched helpers on both of Mitch Marner's tallies, including the game-winner late in the second period. Holl had only two goals and 18 points in 68 games last season, but in the early going of 2020-21 he's already racked up four assists through four contests.

Holl has totaled two assists, five hits and five blocked shots while averaging 22:06 of ice time per game this season.

EDGE Analysis

With defensemen Tyson Barrie and Cody Ceci leaving the Maple Leafs this offseason, Holl has made good use of his increased role on the blue line. His 22:06 of ice time per game is a sizable increase from the 18:31 he averaged during the 2019-20 season. While he has just one shot on goal so far, Holl should easily surpass his 18 points from last season if he continues seeing this much playing time.
