With the lower body injury to Josh Harding, the Wild may be on the lookout for another goaltender.
Niklas Backstrom is already out with a groin injury and if Harding's lower body injury is serious enough not to allow him even to dress as the backup to Matthew Hackett, then the Wild are in trouble. Darcy Kuemper is fourth on the depth charts and he could be out for the remainder of the season due to an upper body injury that may require surgery while the fifth goalie depth-wise, Dennis Endras, left North America to play for IFK-Helsinki after an early stint with the AHL farm team the Houston Aeros. They may need to sign a goalie in Europe but if they do, he will have to pass through waivers first, like Marty Turco did earlier in the week. Stay tuned.

Josh Harding suffered a lower-body injury Thursday night in the Minnesota Wild's 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes.
The netminder "tweaked something" and was removed 11:38 into the second period. Coach Mike Yeo did not know how bad the injury was. Harding had been stellar in net, kicking away all 24 shots he faced. Youngster Matthew Hackett came on in relief and made 15 saves on 17 shots. With Niklas Backstrom already sidelined because of a groin injury, Hackett figures to be the one to carry the load, depending on how long Harding is out, of course.

Josh Harding allowed six goals on 29 Detroit shots in the Detroit Red Wings' 6-0 slaughter of the visiting Minnesota Wild Friday night.
Harding, who was beaten in a shootout by the Montreal Canadiens Thursday night, was yanked from Friday's game in the third period and was replaced by Matt Hackett, who saved all six of the Detroit shots he faced.

Look for Josh Harding to play between the pipes for the vast majority of the Wild's games while Niklas Backstrom recovers from a groin injury.
Backstrom is expected to miss the next two-to-four weeks, which probably means that he will be out for a minimum of six Wild games. Because of how the games are spaced out, we wouldn't be surprised if Harding ended up starting in all of those contests.

The Minnesota Wild don't want to rule out the possibility of re-signing Josh Harding.
Harding will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2011-12 season. He has a 2.59 GAA and .919 save percentage in 24 games this season, so he'll probably be interested in moving to a city where he has a better shot of competing for the starting gig. That being said, the free agent market is rarely a friendly place for goaltenders and we wouldn't be surprised if he ends up having to sign with a team that sees him as a backup.

Josh Harding is questionable Thursday due to an undisclosed injury.
It's not known what part of Harding's body is bothering him, but the injury has been called a tweak. Matthew Hackett has been called up to provide the Wild with some insurance in case Harding is unavailable Thursday.

Josh Harding allowed two goals on 25 shots, but was saddled with a loss as Minnesota dropped a 2-1 decision to Anaheim.
Harding has suffered greatly from a lack of offensive support, as his .920 save percentage and 2.52 GAA don't match up with his mediocre record.

Josh Harding has not started since January 31st after allowing five goals on 30 shots in a 5-4 loss to Nashville.
That's five games in a row that Niklas Backstrom has started for the Wild. Those who thought that Harding was poised to unseat Backstrom as the starter a few months ago have been forced to re-evaluate.

Josh Harding allowed five goals on 30 shots Tuesday as the Wild dropped a heart-breaking 5-4 decision to the Predators.
The Wild allowed four goals over the final eleven minutes of the game to cough up what seemed like a certain victory. This result will likely mean Harding will find himself on the bench for Minnesota's next game.

Josh Harding will be the Minnesota Wild's starting goaltender on Tuesday.
Harding went into the All-Star break with an impressive 2.42 GAA and .925 save percentage in 21 games. Niklas Backstrom should still edge him out in terms of total starts over the final two-plus months of the season, but Harding is one of the most desirable backup goaltenders to own from a fantasy perspective.
