On most nights over the last month-plus, two goals was enough to be saddled with the loss, but Harding had some rare breathing room in this one. He allowed the game's first goal at the end of the first period, but the Wild scored four in the second. Harding now has a 9-6-3 record with a 2.42 goals-against average and .925 save percentage. This was only the Wild's third win in their last 18 games.

Harding allowed four straight goals (and lasted 36:27) before the Wild could answer back midway through the third. Hackett only faced eight shots in relief. Suffice to say, this is a messy goaltending situation, compounded by the second weakest offense in the NHL.

Niklas Backstrom has struggled of late with a 1-5 record, an .890 save percentage and 3.54 goals against average in his last six outings. Matt Hackett was brought up as a replacement if Harding was unable to go, but he'll end up out of uniform now for the contest.
