Quick (groin) will not return until March, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This adjusted return timetable was provided by Kings President and GM Dean Lombardi, who adds that he's not about to "throw the kitchen sink" at the issue of Quick expecting to be sidelined much longer than the original three-month estimate. While the Kings still have work to do as they're currently in fifth place in the Pacific Division, interim No. 1 goalie Peter Budaj has been a pleasant surprise with a 13-7-2 record and 2.27 GAA, so that helps explain why the kitchen sink will stay where it belongs in LA.

Quick (groin) hasn't suffered any setbacks in his rehab thus far but remains without a timetable for his eventual return, the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quick's rehab so far has consisted mostly of cardio work as he works his way through the lengthy rehab process. "It's very light, very light resistance, just because it's still trying to heal and you don't want to reaggravate it," he said. "It's coming along. Slowly, but it's coming along." The initial diagnosis had him missing 3-4 months after sustaining the injury on Opening Night and that doesn't appear to have changed so far.

Quick is considered month-to-month with his groin injury, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quick isn't expected to return until some point in 2017, though the Kings have yet to move him to long-term injured reserve. The stud netminder suffered the injury in the season opener against the Sharks, spelling serious trouble for the Kings and fantasy owners alike -- LA's currently in fifth place in a Pacific Division that has been disappointing with five teams possessing losing records.

Quick, who's out indefinitely with a groin injury, has decided against surgery, though he did undergo a non-surgical procedure Tuesday, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dillman additionally reports that Quick will not go on long-term injured reserve at this time. The Kings have struggled mightily without their star backstop, as they've gone winless with Jeff Zatkoff spending most of the time between the pipes for the Black and Silver.

Quick may require surgery on his injured groin and could miss 3-4 months of the season, Daren Millard of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is obviously catastrophic news for the Kings and fantasy owners alike. Quick has been a top tier goalie for much of his career and is now unlikely to repeat his 40-win performance from last season now that he will miss half the year. Jeff Zatkoff will likely step up as the starter in Los Angeles for the next few months.

Kings general manager Dean Lombardi told reporters Friday that Quick's injury is "in the same area as a 2013 groin injury that kept him out almost two months," Elliott Teaford of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quick's week-to-week prognosis may have just gotten a lot worse, as this report would seem to indicate he may have suffered a similar injury to the groin ailment that sidelined him for nearly two months in 2013. The Kings will have to rely on Jeff Zatkoff, who signed with LA as a free agent this offseason, for the foreseeable future. In the meantime, Quick's owners can expect an update on his status once a more definitive timeline for his return to action is established.

Quick (lower body) was put on injured reserve Thursday and is considered week-to-week, Curtis Zupke of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quick left the Kings' season opener after just one period of action and it appears his injury is significant. At minimum, the netminder will miss the team's next three contests, but a designation of week-to-week would seem to indicate it could be longer. Los Angeles will turn the reigns over to Jeff Zatkoff who came over from the Pittsburgh Penguins during the offseason.

President and general manager Dean Lombardi relayed that Quick (lower body) "could be a while" in his return from the injury, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
If this turns out to be the case, it's been a disastrous start to the 2016-17 campaign for the Kings. More information on the nature of the injury should surface in the coming day, but backup Jeff Zatkoff doesn't come close to measuring up to Quick's standard between the pipes. Los Angeles may also need to recall another netminder should Quick's injury force him to injured reserve.

Quick didn't return to the ice with his teammates for the second period of Wednesday's opener against the Sharks due to a lower-body injury and is doubtful to return, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was a bit of a surprise when Zatkoff slid into the blue paint to begin the second period of the contest, but the reason behind the star netminder's departure has surfaced. More on his status should arise in the coming day, but it's best to consider him day-to-day until something suggests otherwise. Quick's next chance to return between the pipes (assuming he doesn't return Wednesday) would come Friday against the Flyers.

Quick will patrol the crease in Wednesday's season opener against the Sharks, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quick posted another solid season in 2015-16, posting a 40-23-5 record with a 2.22 GAA and .918 save percentage. He got some extra work in during the offseason as the starting netminder for Team USA in the World Cup of Hockey and will look to use that to round into form earlier than some of his counterparts in the crease. His season starts Monday against the defending Western Conference champions, the Sharks.
