Quick made 32 saves in his return Saturday from a groin injury to pace the Kings to a 4-1 victory over the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
He missed 59 games after suffering the injury in the first period of the season opener Oct. 12. Quick looked remarkably sharp Saturday, even doing the splits to deny Nick Ritchie in the first. Get him back in there STAT.

Quick (groin) led his team out on the ice for pregame warmups Saturday, indicating that he'll be the afternoon's home starter versus the Ducks, Josh Cooper of Yahoo reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quick finally returns to game action after sustaining his ailment Opening Night on the road against the Sharks. Peter Budaj blew away expectations with Quick sidelined -- he's crafted a 27-20-3 record with seven shutouts and a skinny 2.12 GAA -- but it's largely going to be up to Quick to get the Kings into playoff contention. He'll resume his goaltending duties against a Ducks team ranked 19th in the league in road scoring at 2.45 goals per game, making for a sneaky play given the abrupt return.

Quick (groin) continues to practice and could be closer to a return after the Kings placed Jeff Zatkoff on waivers Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
While the team has not said anything regarding an accelerated return date for Quick, one has to think that Zatkoff's removal from the active lineup is a sign that Quick could be back sooner rather than later. Mid-March is still the expected return period for the American goalie, but don't be surprised if he's cleared to play earlier than that.

Quick (groin) could be working towards a simulated game soon after his most intense practice to date Monday, LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quick's next steps towards a return center around his ability to occupy one of the nets by himself in a practice and then working his way towards a simulated game environment. The Kings remain hopeful that he'll be able to return by the the middle of March as they battle for a playoff spot down the stretch.

Quick (groin) is tentatively set to be back Mar. 9 at the earliest.
EDGE Analysis
Quick is expected to only have a couple more weeks on the sidelines. The veteran goaltender hasn't played in a game since Oct. 12, but he has been practicing partially with the Kings. Peter Budaj has been starting all season for the Kings, and he has been playing great hockey. In his past four games, though, Budaj a record of 1-3 with a .833 save percentage. Regardless of how Budaj plays prior to Quick's return, expect some sort of goaltender battle in Los Angeles when the calendar flips to March.

Quick (groin) was a partial participant in practice Thursday, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
The American netminder reportedly did some 1-on-1 drills with goalie coach Bill Ranford at the opposite end of the rink before briefly practicing with the rest of the team during the session. Head coach Darryl Sutter also said that Quick will make the upcoming four-game road trip and continue to skate in practice, but that there hasn't been a change to his return timetable of early March (at the earliest).

Quick (groin) will be sidelined until at least early March, general manager Dean Lombardi indicated, LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Quick still on the shelf for at least the next five or six weeks, if not longer, Peter Budaj will continue to hold down the fort. The Slovakian has been a godsend for the Kings, filling in admirably and resurrecting his career. Fantasy owners will want to be patient and hang onto Quick, as he could face a favorable schedule upon his return. The Kings play at home for nine of their 14 games in March and four of five in April.

Quick (groin) remains sidelined and without a firm timetable for a return, LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quick was expected to be sidelined until March when the Kings provided an update in mid-December and that timetable certainly still appears to be in play as the end of January approaches. Peter Budaj will continue to see the bulk of the action between the pipes in LA.

Quick (groin) is expected to return to game action in mid-February, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
An earlier report indicated Quick wouldn't be ready to return until March, but Kings President and GM Dean Lombardi actually misspoke when relaying that timetable to reporters Wednesday, and later clarified a March return would be a worst-case scenario for the American goaltender. Interim No. 1 goalie Peter Budaj has been solid during Quick's absence, posting a 13-7-2 record while maintaining a 2.27 GAA over 25 appearances, so the Kings will likely continue to take an extremely cautious approach with their star goaltender's rehab.
