Bernier allowed two goals on 15 shots in relief of Semyon Varlamov during Thursday's 7-1 loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Varlamov got lit up for five goals on 20 shots, prompting Bernier's entrance into the game around the midway mark of the second period. The Avalanche figure to ride Varly for most of their remaining eight games as they push for a playoff spot, so Bernier likely won't see more than another start or two unless the team falls out of contention.

Bernier (head) will serve as the backup to Semyon Varlamov against the Kings on Thursday, Adrian Dater of BSN Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier has missed the Avs' previous five contents with a head injury that he suffered March 10 versus Arizona -- his first game back from a concussion that kept him out for a 10-game stretch. Considering Varlamov will be making his 19th straight appearance in goal Thursday, fantasy owners should expect to see Bernier get a couple outings the rest of the way in order to rest up the Colorado No. 1 for the playoffs.

Bernier (head) will not suit up for the Avs' upcoming pair of contests, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier has appeared in just one game since Feb. 16 -- a 22-save win over the Coyotes. Semyon Varlamov has been carrying the load without the 29-year-old available to spell him for a game or two. Once given the green light, the Quebec native should pick up a couple starts in order to rest Varlamov for the postseason.

Bernier (head) was feeling better Monday, but there is no timetable for his return, Marc Moser of Altitude 950 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Considering that Bernier just suffered a concussion, this is about what was to be expected. You can't put a timetable on an injury such as this. The 29-year-old is out indefinitely, and considering that Bernier suffered this injury taking a puck in the head in his return from a concussion is certainly a cause for concern.

Bernier (head) picked up the win Saturday in a 5-2 victory over the Coyotes. He stopped 22 shots, but was unable to finish the game after taking a puck to the head.
EDGE Analysis
Ugh. It was Bernier's first outing since missing 10 games with a head injury. He took a slap shot to the head in the second period and apparently had a sore neck. There was no indication that Bernier had a headache or that the shot re-ignited symptoms. Hopefully this is a better safe than sorry situation.

Bernier will tend twine Saturday against the Coyotes, Kyle Fredrickson of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier hasn't patrolled the blue paint since Feb. 16 in Winnipeg, when he suffered a concussion that landed him on IR. However, the 29-year-old has held his own in net this season, accruing a .914 save percentage and 2.82 GAA through 30 appearances, marking 17 wins on the way. The Coyotes sit 30th in the league with 2.4 goals per game, so this shapes up to be a solid opportunity for Bernier to get the juices flowing again.

Bernier (concussion) was lifted from injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL's official media site.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier last appeared Feb. 16 against the Jets, when he was yanked after allowing four goals on 20 shots. The 29-year-old backstop then had to spend eight games on injured reserve before clearing the league's concussion protocol, but he'll remain on the bench as Semyon Varlamov's backup Tuesday. Bernier's having a respectable season with a .914 save percentage and 2.82 GAA in 30 outings, so he'll likely be deployed a few more times down the stretch as the Avalanche seek a playoff spot.

Bernier (concussion) will travel with the team for their upcoming two-game road trip, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It has been confirmed that Semyon Varlamov is going to start Tuesday against the Blackhawks, so don't expect Bernier in action for that one. However, if they are bringing the 29-year-old on the road it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to action Thursday against the Blue Jackets. He's already been practicing fully, so his return is definitely near.

Bernier (concussion) practiced in full Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Avalanche reportedly held an optional practice that ended up with a huge turnout in terms of attendance, with Bernier one of 23 players hitting the ice. "I feel good, no issue," the goalie said following the session. "Now it's just a point of getting back in shape." He'll look to do just that ahead of Sunday's home game against the Predators, but what fantasy owners really should be looking out for is Bernier's eventual activation from injured reserve. Starting goalie Semyon Varlamov has played in nine straight games with a robust .928 save percentage over that span, but we suspect that he could use a break after spending so much time in the blue paint.

Bernier (head) did not take the ice Monday, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The news effectively rules out Bernier for at least Monday's clash with Vancouver, although the team did not provide an update on his timeline, so it could be longer. Even once the netminder is cleared to play, he probably won't see to many starts behind No. 1 Semyon Varlamov. An unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, the 29-year-old Bernier will want to make as many appearances between the pipes as possible in order to audition for his next contract.
