Mitchell is doubtful to return to Saturday's game against the Stars after suffering a leg injury. Mitchell entered Saturday's game with a preexisting leg injury, although it's still unclear whether or not Saturday's injury is related or fresh. With his return in doubt, he should be considered day-to-day moving forward into Monday's game against the Canadiens.

Mitchell (leg) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Stars, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports. Mitchell was a full participant in Friday's practice and was given clearance to return following a three-game absence. The forward has three goals and five points in 16 games this season.

Mitchell (leg) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Blackhawks, Mitchell will miss Wednesday's game after tweaking his leg injury during Colorado's morning skate. Consider him questionable for the Avalanche's next game Saturday.

Mitchell (leg) appears unlikely to play Wednesday against the Blackhawks after he left the Avs' morning skate in discomfort, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports. Mitchell was grimacing in pain as he exited the ice after apparently tweaking his existing leg injury, which will likely force him out of action for the third straight game. As a result, expect Ben Street to receive another look as the Avs' third-line center.

Mitchell (leg) will not play Tuesday against the Coyotes, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. Mitchell didn't even make the trip to Arizona for the game, as he continues to recover from the injury he's believed to have sustained last Thursday against the Capitals. Since it doesn't sound like he's resumed skating yet, it appears doubtful that Mitchell will be able to play in Wednesday's home date with the Blackhawks.

Mitchell will sit out Saturday's game against the Hurricanes with a leg injury. The Avalanche have been absolutely decimated by injuries of late, as the team was forced to move all of Dennis Everberg, Jamie McGinn and Brad Stuart to IR a day earlier to get some healthy bodies onto the active roster. Mitchell's concern looks minor by comparison and he's being labeled as day-to-day, but the forward will probably need to get in a practice before the Avalanche use him in a game.

Mitchell is projected to play alongside Gabriel Landeskog and Jarome Iginla in Thursday's game against the Rangers, the Denver Post reports. Coach Patrick Roy continues to change up his lines, hoping to find some offense from a struggling Avs team. Mitchell has recorded just two goals and two assists in 13 games this season, while playing on the third line. Even on a new line, he should not draw consideration from fantasy owners.

Mitchell scored his second of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Canucks. Mitchell opened the scoring just 1:15 into the game, and Colorado was able to make it 2-0 later in the period before surrendering the game's final five goals. He should put up somewhere in the range of 20-30 points, which doesn't merit a ton of fantasy consideration.

Mitchell (head) christened his return from injured reserve Thursday against the Senators with a shorthanded goal in the first period. Mitchell saw 13:02 of ice time in his season debut, winning eight of his 14 faceoffs. He began the game on the Avs' fourth line, but it didn't take long for coach Patrick Roy to elevate him up to the third line by game's end. Though not a prominent scorer, Mitchell has been able to deliver a goal in his first game of the season for three years running.

Mitchell (head) will be activated from injured reserve and play Thursday against the Senators, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. Coach Patrick Roy said that Mitchell would be used as either a center or wing on the first line in his season debut. Mitchell thrived as the Avs' third-line center of choice last season with 32 points and a plus-13 rating over 75 games, but the additions of Jarome Iginla, Dennis Everberg and a healthy Alex Tanguay to the Avs' top-nine forward ranks could relegate Mitchell to checking-line duty until further notice.
