Joey MacDonald turned aside 19 of 21 shots as the Flames won the Devils 3-2 Friday night at the Saddledome. MacDonald has started four straight games for the Flames and the Flames have won three of those games. He has a 2.98 GAA while his save percentage is .897. Looks like he is taking over the number one goalie spot in Calgary.

Joey MacDonald stopped 33 of 35 shots Wednesday as the Flames held off Montreal for a 3-2 win at the Saddledome. MacDonald has started three straight games after Karri Romo was between the pipes for their opener and holds a 2-0-1 record in that span. His GAA now rests at a below average 3.30 while his save percentage is .895.

Joey MacDonald will play between the pipes on Wednesday. MacDonald seems to have an edge in the battle for the Calgary Flames starting job, but that doesn't mean you should pick him up. He has a 3.94 GAA and .867 save percentage in two games this season and while those numbers are unsustainably bad, he's not likely to help in standard leagues.

Goalie Joey MacDonald blocked 23 of the 28 shots he faced in the Calgary Flames 5-4 overtime loss to the visiting Vancouver Canucks Sunday night. MacDonald now has a goals-against average of .821. He is splitting goaltending duties in Calgary this season with Karri Ramo.

Joey MacDonald could be back in the cage for the Calgary Flames Sunday when they face the Vancouver Canucks in their home opener. MacDonald backstopped the Flames to a 4-3 win on Friday, stopping 29 shots after Karri Ramo gave up four goals on 39 shots in a 5-4 shootout loss Thursday. The two could split action in the early going but do not forget about rookie Reto Berra as the Swiss netminder will start the season in the minors but is highly regarded.

Joey MacDonald earned his (and Calgary's) first win of the 2013-14 as the Flames edged the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 on Friday. MacDonald stopped 29 out of 32 shots, including 28 of 30 at even strength. Perhaps this performance will help him wiggle the starting job away from Karri Ramo, or at least move it.

Joey MacDonald is expected to be in goal for Calgary on Friday against Columbus. Karri Ramo started Calgary's opening contest of the 2013-14 season on Thursday and he allowed four goals on 39 shots in a 5-4 shootout loss versus Washington. MacDonald posted an 8-9-1 record with a .902 save percentage and a 2.87 GAA last season with the Flames.

Joey MacDonald set aside 11 of 12 shots at home in the 3-2 split-squad loss to the Oilers. Theoretically, MacDonald could wind up topping his season-high 49 games played he recorded in 2008-09, but that doesn't make him worth drafting. It's more of a reflection of the dire straits the Flames' goaltending situation is in, which is further worsened by a pretty poor roster. Prospect Joni Ortio made 10 saves in the second half of the game. The Flames are probably hoping Karri Ramo holds his own this season.

Joey MacDonald says he's feeling better after going to the hospital on a stretcher following Friday's loss to the Blackhawks. MacDonald returned to Calgary on Saturday and there appears to be no lingering effects from the incident. The 33-year-old netminder could be in position to compete for Calgary's starting job next season if Miikka Kiprusoff retires as many expect.

After stopping 35 shots in the Flames' 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks, Calgary goaltender Joey MacDonald remained in Chicago overnight in Chicago because he was feeling ill. MacDonald battled the flu during the Flames' road trip. The Flames had a nightmarish 2013 and their season is over. MacDonald, however, may be a keeper for Fantasy owners. Scouts suggest he has plenty of upside.
