Fast was assigned to AHL Hartford on Friday.
The AHL assignment comes on the heels of Fast serving as a healthy scratch during the Rangers' last two games. Since a return to a regular line was unlikely to come to fruition any time soon, the Rangers decided Fast would benefit from some more time in the minors.

Fast, who missed Sunday's game with an arm injury, will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's tilt with the Islanders, Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports.
Fast's health is apparently in tact after nursing the injury for the first week of the season, but his standing as a regular in the Rangers' lineup may not be. He attempted just three shots and posted a minus-1 rating over the first three games, production that may not afford him much more room for error when he reenters the lineup for the Rangers, likely on Thursday.

Fast will not play Sunday against the Maple Leafs, The Record reports.
Fast, who played through an arm injury Saturday, was going through pregame warmups but did not take part in line rushes. He'll rest Sunday and should be considered day-to-day going forward.

Fast, who suffered a hand injury in Thursday's win over the Blues, returned to the ice for practice Friday, Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports.
Fast's left hand is probably still a little sore after he blocked a shot Thursday, but it shouldn't jeopardize his availability for Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets. The 22-year-old skated on the fourth line at Friday's practice.

Fast had a game-tying goal in the third period of Sunday's preseason loss to New Jersey.
The 22-year-old Swedish winger played on the team's fourth line with Dominic Moore and newcomer Tanner Glass. Despite posting a donut in 11 regular season games last year, Fast managed an assist in the team's cup run and fits head coach Alain Vigneault's customary blueprints. He's far from a lock to make the team out of camp, but scoring points never hurt anyone.

Jesper Fast's status for Game 1 Thursday night is unclear.
He didn't take part in the team's morning skate and his absence was described as a "maintenance morning" by coach Alain Vigneault. Fast played three games with the Rangers during his NHL stint to end the regular season and he's expected to play in the playoffs if he's available.

Jesper Fast has been called up by the Rangers.
He has registered 17 goals and 34 points in 48 games with AHL Hartford. "I like his hockey sense, his speed, his willingness to play at both ends of the rink," coach Alain Vigneault said. "For the past month, I've been told over and over again that he's playing really, really well."

Jesper Fast has been sent down to the minors.
The Rangers needed to clear up a roster spot for Carl Hagelin, who is expected to return from a shoulder injury. Fast has no points in eight games with the Rangers this season.

Jesper Fast might end up playing in Thursday's contest against Anaheim.
Fast will be inserted into the lineup if Rick Nash (head) is unable to play. Nash left Tuesday's game because he wasn't feeling well and he had a headache after absorbing a high hit, but it's not yet clear if he has a concussion.

Jesper Fast could play Monday on the fourth line.
Fast started Game 1 of the regular season on the third line with Brian Boyle and Taylot Pyatt but that spot will be taken by the returning Ryan Callahan. Either Fast of Arron Asham will play on the fourth line with coach Alain Vigneault making the decision to play a skilled player like Fast or using the brawn of Asham against the big and tough Kings. Stay tuned as Fast may be better off getting a lot of ice time in the AHL.
