Fast (shoulder) will likely return to a full practice session with the team later int he week, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Out since the beginning of the month, Fast was handed a 2-to-3 week recovery timetable for his shoulder issue. He's about to hit the early portion of that time period, and appears to be progressing smoothly towards a return. Once he gets a couple team practices under his belt, Fast will likely be ready to rejoin the lineup.

Fast (shoulder) is listed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
EDGE Analysis
It was announced Wednesday that Fast will miss 2-to-3 weeks, so the IR placement was inevitable. The Rangers decently feature the league's 16th-ranked penalty kill, but they could be more vulnerable in that area without Fast; he's been averaging 1:34 in shorthanded situations this season.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said Wednesday that Fast (shoulder) is expected to miss 2-to-3 weeks.
EDGE Analysis
That's an improvement over the earlier report of "out indefinitely." This timeline seems to indicate that Fast will return no sooner than March 17 against Florida, but more updates should be forthcoming as he recovers from what seems to be a relatively mild shoulder separation.

Fast is believed to have a separated shoulder and is out indefinitely, Larry Brooks of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fast got plastered into the glass by Alex Ovechkin in Tuesday's game, which seems to have caused the injury. While no timeline has been released yet, 6-to-8 weeks is a normal recovery time for a separated shoulder, which means there's a chance that Fast doesn't return to the Rangers' lineup until the playoffs. The team will miss his bottom-six speed boost, but fantasy owners have gotten very limited use out of Fast this year.

Fast went scoreless with a minus-2 rating and a single shot on goal in Thursday's loss to the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
He has just two points in his last 14 games, making Fast's decent start to the year (10 points and a plus-9 rating in the first 17 games) a distant memory. With a bottom-six role that includes almost no power-play time, the Swedish winger isn't moving the needle much for fantasy purposes, but owners in deep dynasty leagues may want to keep him around based on his solid past production in Sweden and the AHL.

Fast (upper body) is expected to rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jackets, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fast owns a solid plus-9 rating on the season, but just 15 points over 45 contests for a winger doesn't exactly label him an appealing fantasy winger. He has provided 64 hits over that span this season, but his absence from the man advantage and lack of scoring keep him from being valuable in most leagues.

Fast will miss 7-to-10 days with an upper-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
We hadn't been aware of an injury to Fast, only for the Rangers to abruptly announce that he'll miss at least a week of action. Unfortunately, this puts him on track to be placed on IR. The bottom-six winger has been an asset in limited action this season, adding 12 assists with a plus-9 rating through 45 contests. With Fast not expected back until after the All-Star break, Oscar Lindberg should return to the lineup after riding the pine in the last game.

Fast (illness) participated in line rushes during pregame warmups, indicating he'll be in the lineup for Friday's game against Toronto, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fast was questionable for Friday evening's tilt due to an illness, but evidently is feeling well enough to give it a go against the Maple Leafs. The 25-year-old winger is expected to slot into a bottom-six role against Toronto, skating with Pavel Buchnevich and Brandon Pirri on New York's fourth line.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said Friday that he needed to speak with Fast (illness) about his availability for the evening's tilt against Toronto, so his status will likely come down to a game-time decision, the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fast's reportedly lost eight pounds over the last week because the illness has prevented him from getting much food down, so it seems reasonable that -- particularly with the team getting Rick Nash and Pavel Buchnevich back from injury -- he might be held out of the lineup once more. It's more likely that he'll be back in the lineup for Saturday's game against Montreal, but the Swede still hasn't officially been ruled out for Friday.

Fast did not participate in Thursday's practice after coming down with the flu.
EDGE Analysis
As any person, hockey expert or not, will be able to tell you, recovery from the flu can take anywhere from a day or two to a week or two, so it's unknown at this point if Fast will be good to go for Friday's home matchup with Toronto. The 25-year-old hasn't scored a goal since Dec. 13, but he does own two assists and a plus-6 rating in his last five games.
