Skinner signed a one-year, $3 million contract to join the Sharks on Friday, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner is headed to San Jose after posting 16 goals and 13 assists in 72 regular-season games with the Oilers last season, but he spent most of his first postseason as an NHL player as a healthy scratch. The 33-year-old will look to prove he still has some gas left in the tank with the Sharks; at the very least, he will be a good veteran presence with all of the young talent the team has. He'll likely jump right into the top six at the beginning of the season.

Skinner (healthy scratch) scored a goal in a 6-3 win in Game 5 on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old winger played his second postseason game ever Thursday, and he had a dream game -- he scored a goal and his team advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals. Skinner has played 1,078 regular-season games since breaking into the NHL in 2010-11 with Carolina.

Skinner will draw into the lineup for Game 5 versus Dallas on Thursday, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner has been a healthy scratch since the opening game of the playoffs, a span of 14 games. He will replace Zach Hyman (upper body) in the lineup and see third-line action alongside Adam Henrique and Trent Frederic. Skinner had 16 goals and 13 assists across 72 regular-season games in 2024-25.

Skinner recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner snapped a four-game dry spell when he helped out on Ty Emberson's first-period tally. The 32-year-old Skinner filled a large role as the Oilers struggled with injuries late in the season, but he'll likely be in a bottom-six spot if the team is anywhere close to fully healthy in the playoffs. Skinner logged 16 goals, 13 assists, 144 shots on net, 45 hits and a plus-1 rating over 72 appearances this season. His 29 points represented his lowest total in a full-length season in his career.

Skinner scored a goal in Monday's 3-2 loss to Anaheim. He also took two shots on goal and recorded three hits.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old is far from a reliable scoring weapon, but he's found the back of the net in two of his last three appearances while cracking the scoresheet seven times over his past nine games (five goals, two helpers). Skinner's role as a bottom-six forward should be enough to keep fantasy managers from adding him in most formats, but his numbers aren't encouraging either. He's notched a mere 16 goals and 28 points in 67 contests.

Skinner scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner continues to play well late in the season -- he has four goals and two assists over his last seven outings. He set up a Connor Brown goal in the first period before scoring the game-winner himself late in the middle frame. Skinner is up to 15 goals, 12 helpers, 135 shots on net, 39 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 65 appearances this season. With the Oilers battling a number of injuries, Skinner is at no risk of being scratches, especially when he's playing well with a larger role than he's seen for much of the campaign.

Skinner recorded an assist and five hits in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner has four points over his last five contests. He's benefited from a larger role in the absence of Connor McDavid (lower body), as well as Leon Draisaitl, who returned from an undisclosed injury Saturday. Skinner found Draisaitl for the game-winning goal at 2:25 of overtime. For the season, the 32-year-old Skinner has 25 points, 132 shots on net, 39 hits and a minus-1 rating through 63 appearances while typically playing in a middle-six role.

Skinner scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Kraken.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner has three goals over his last two games. This rise on offense comes at a great time as the Oilers look to handle short-term absences for Connor McDavid (lower body) and Leon Draisaitl (undisclosed). Skinner was second among Edmonton forwards with 18:38 in this contest. The veteran winger is up to 14 goals, 24 points, 124 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 60 outings overall.

Skinner scored a pair of goals on four shots, added three hits and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner ended a seven-game point drought, a stretch that also saw him sit as a healthy scratch four times. He's in no danger of that happening again as long as Leon Draisaitl (undisclosed) and Connor McDavid (lower body) are dealing with injuries. Skinner played on the top line Thursday and could see a larger role in the short term, but his productivity could suffer if the Oilers' superstars can't suit up. Skinner has 13 goals, 23 points, 121 shots on net, 30 hits and a minus-2 rating over 59 appearances this season.

Skinner registered a goal and added three shots during Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner has contributed four goals and six points in his last 10 games despite being shuffled to the fourth line. With just 11 goals and 21 points in 51 outings this season, the 32-year-old winger's fantasy value has plummeted since his arrival in Edmonton, and Skinner will need a more significant offensive role to be a dependable fantasy asset for the balance of the 2024-25 campaign.
