Petry (upper body) won't play Tuesday against the Wild, Arpon Basu of LNH.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Petry suffered the upper-body injury when he was rocked by the Stars' Jamie Benn in Saturday's matchup with Dallas, and will miss a second-consecutive game Tuesday as a result. He'll have a few extra days to recover ahead of the Habs' next contest, as Montreal's next game isn't until Saturday against Washington due to the NHL's brief holiday hiatus. Jarred Tinordi or Greg Pateryn will draw into the Canadien's lineup Tuesday in Petry's absence.

Petry (upper body) is unlikely to suit up for games Monday in Nashville and Tuesday in Minnesota, the Montreal Gazette reports. Petry was forced to leave Saturday night's game after getting rocked by the Stars' Jamie Benn.
EDGE Analysis
It should be noted Petry not playing the next two games is conjecture by the Gazette and not the opinion of the head coach Michel Therrien, who would only say he did not know the severity of the injury.

EDGE Analysis
It's unclear when Petry may have been injured, or even how severe the injury might be, so more information will likely arrive shortly after the conclusion of the contest.

Petry led the way with two goals in Friday's 5-3 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Petry now has three goals on the season and it's the first time he's scored since Oct. 17. The Habs' big summer signing has played quite well for the most part, even if the production has been rather sparse. Petry also fired three shots on net and blocked three others, capping off a good night for the 27-year-old defenseman. He's buried behind P.K. Subban and Andrei Markov on the depth chart, which hurts his fantasy value.

Petry picked up a pair of assists in Friday's win over Calgary.
EDGE Analysis
Petry now has four points in 12 games while logging heavy minutes and sporting a tidy plus-3 rating. He's not a big point producer, but he's playing on the second power-play unit and isn't afraid to jump into the rush, making a 20-plus-point season a very realistic possibility.

Petry scored the game-winning goal on the power play in Saturday night's 4-1 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Both of Petry's points have come with the man-advantage. He's averaging 2:37 of power-play time per game, a career high mark for the top-four defenseman.

Petry notched a power-play assist for his first point of the season Tuesday against the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
The Habs signed Petry to a big contract over the offseason, and it's hard to imagine that they're counting goals and assists when they consider his value to stabilizing their blue line. Fantasy owners, however, do have to keep expectations low as far as the offensive production they get out of Petry, who's never exceeded 25 points in a year and hasn't even hit 20 since 2011-12.
