Petry had a goal and an assist, both on the power play, along with three shots, two blocked shots, two minor penalties and two hits in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Calgary.
EDGE Analysis
Petry finished at minus-2 but played better than that stat indicates. His second-period, power-play goal ignited Montreal's offense, which had been stymied by Flames goalie David Rittich, who was coming off a 44-save effort in a win over the Rangers. The Canadiens peppered him with 40 shots Tuesday and enjoyed a 26-11 edge before Petry netted his first goal of the season. Less than two minutes later, he assisted on Brendan Gallagher's power-play strike. It was the third multi-point night in eight games for Petry.

Petry logged two assists, one on the power play, along with one shot and two hits over 25:33 of ice time in Saturday's shootout win over the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Petry has four points this season, all assists coming in the two games in which Montreal has triumphed over the Penguins. Through four games, Petry is averaging a point per game while plus-1 hockey while averaging 23:01 of ice time and a career-high 4:45 on the power play. He did a credible job of replacing Shea Weber's production last season and has continued in that same vein to open the 2018-19 season.

Petry had three shots on net, three hits and a blocked shot over a team-high 23:57 of ice time in Wednesday's season-opening loss to Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Petry takes the mantle of blue-line leader with Captain Shea Weber (knee) expected out until mid-December. That means top-pair minutes and significant time on the power play. He had 4:10 of ice time on the man advantage Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Petry scored a goal, had two shots on net, two hits and three blocked shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh. He has points (one goal, three assists) in three straight contests.
EDGE Analysis
This was a night when Petry was a reasonable facsimile of Shea Weber, Montreal's top blueliner who has been limited to 26 games due to a foot injury. While Petry's minus-29 is ugly to look at, he's been a much better presence over the second half of the season. If anything can come from this season, the Canadiens learned they have another defenseman who can be effective on the power play (21 points) and initiate offense.

Petry registered two power-play assists during Monday's 4-2 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Petry has now recorded a respectable five goals and 11 assists through 26 contests dating back to his last multi-point game on Feb. 3. He's also proven to be a solid contributor in the counting-stat columns with 57 shots, 40 hits and 47 blocked shots during that stretch. Positioned atop the Montreal depth chart, Petry projects to remain a serviceable asset in most fantasy settings.

Petry notched an assist in a 6-4 defeat to Washington on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Although Petry's continued to log assists, he's been unlucky in the goal column recently -- he hasn't scored since Feb. 22, despite firing off 28 shots on net and averaging 2:56 on the first power-play unit. Petry's mainly garnered attention this year because of the 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists) he's logged in 76 games -- already a new career high by eight tallies -- but he's been a steady contributor across the board, as he's also recorded 160 hits and blocked 131 shots. There's no reason the 30-year-old can't continue his pace especially with Shea Weber (foot) out the remainder of the season, and he shouldn't see a decrease in the 24:02 of ice time he's been averaging since February.

Petry scored the game-winning goal along with three shots, five hits and a blocked shot in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Petry now has points in three straight games, including goals in the last two. The surge has lifted him to a career-high 29 points, and he'll get an opportunity increase that career mark after the Canadiens announced No. 1 defenseman Shea Weber (foot) will undergo surgery and miss the balance of the season.
