Jason Spezza potted two goals in the Senators' 3-0 victory over the New York Rangers Thursday night.
Spezza got the Senators going with a nifty wrist shot from the right circle and the team never looked back. Spezza has totalled eight points in last six games and is looking like an Art Ross Trophy candidate if he can stay healthy.

Fans have selected four Senator players to start in the NHL All-Star game on January 29th.
Jason Spezza, Daniel Alfredsson, Erik Karlsson and Milan Michalek will start alongside Dion Phaneuf of the Maple Leafs and Boston's Tim Thomas. Talk about ballot stuffing! Karlsson is deserving and a case can be made for Spezza making the team but not starting. But we don't see how Michalek beats out Phil Kessel and others. Alfredsson should play in the game as a an honorary captain but not as a starter. Well that's what happens when you let the fans vote. Canadian cities with large fan bases will determine who gets to start.

Jason Spezza was the star of Ottawa's annual skills competition on Wednesday afternoon.
He went four-for-four in the accuracy shooting event and won the hardest shot title with a blast of 103.8 mph. "You always want to try and put best foot forward ... you really just don't want to embarrass yourself," Spezza said. The 28-year-old center leads the Senators with 38 points in 37 games this season. Spezza has been an excellent fantasy player for his consistency on offense and his work on faceoffs.

Jason Spezza scored his 13th goal of the season Tuesday, however the Senators were beaten soundly by Montreal by a score of 6-2.
Spezza's goal came early in the second period, but the game was already well in hand by that point. Zack Smith was the only other Senator to find the back of the net for Ottawa on this night.

Jason Spezza has been selected as the NHL's first star of the week.
Spezza had three goals and eight points in just three contests last week. Spezza is tied for second place in points this month with 13 in just nine games. After two disappointing and injury-shortened seasons, Spezza should have no problem surpassing the 70-point mark for the fifth time in his career.

Jason Spezza registered two assists in the Senators' 5-4 shootout loss against the Devils Thursday night.
Spezza has been one of the great semi-steals in fantasy hockey so far this season, with his biggest question being whether or not he can stay healthy. Injuries have limited Spezza in each of his previous two seasons, but he should have no problem reaching the 80-point mark if he can stay healthy in 2011-12.

Jason Spezza has been excellent in the faceoff circle this season.
Ottawa's lack of depth down the middle has forced him to take the most draws in the league this year at 361 and he owns an impressive 57.6 winning percentage, which ranks him eighth in the NHL going into Thursday night's action. Spezza has also notched six goals and 10 assists in 16 games this season, making him a valuable center in fantasy hockey right now.
