Jason Garrison registered his sixth goal in Vancouver's 4-3 loss to Colorado Saturday afternoon.
He gave the Canucks a 3-2 lead early in the third period, but the Avalanche stormed back late in the final frame to win the contest. Garrison has 13 points and a plus-15 rating in 41 games this campaign. Maxim Lapierre and Jannik Hansen had Vancouver's other markers in the loss, while Alexander Edler, Ryan Kesler, Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin got on the board with an assist each.

Jason Garrison has answered the Vancouver Canucks' need for a right-side defenseman.
Even though Garrison is a left-handed shot and has played mostly as a left-side blueliner, the Canucks switched him over to the right side and coach Alain Vigneault says he's been a blessing. "Jason has been really, really, really efficient," stated Vigneault said Friday. "For someone who originally had some reserve about playing the right side, he hasn't been awkward at all as far as turning and going back for pucks and finding the outlet pass. He's been really good."

Jason Garrison registered a power play goal in the Canucks' 3-2 win over Colorado Sunday.
Garrison's fantasy owners have been clamoring for him to be given an opportunity on Vancouver's top unit with the man advantage and that finally happened tonight, with good results. The suspension being served by Alexander Edler may have something to do with Garrison's new role, but we'll take it nonetheless. Alex Burrows and Mason Raymond also found the back of the net for Vancouver in the win.

Jason Garrison scored his fourth goal in Vancouver's 2-1 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
The Canucks defenseman hasn't provided his new squad with much bang for their buck after inking a six-year/$27.6 million deal last summer. Garrison has six points and 42 shots in 25 games.

Jason Garrison recorded his third goal of the year in Vancouver's 4-2 loss to Phoenix on Tuesday.
Garrison received a heavy workload on Tuesday, as the Canucks were missing Kevin Bieksa on the blueline. Garrison responded with five shots on goal in over 21 minutes of ice time. While he hasn't lived up to his offensive expectations so far this season, fantasy owners shouldn't completely give up on him yet.

Jason Garrison continues to struggle with the Vancouver Canucks.
Garrison was expected to be part of the Canucks first defensive pairing and first power play with Alexander Edler but he has not been on the top power play unit for the last five games and it has been 10 games since he has been paired with Edler as he is now on the third pairing alongside Keith Ballard. He signed a six-year/$27.6 million deal with Vancouver in the off-season and while no one expected him to score 16 goals like he did last season, everyone expected more than a goal and an assist in 15 games. One good thing is that he is a plus-six this season. Expect Garrison to break loose as he has too much offensive talent to continue not scoring.

Canucks captain Henrik Sedin is opening the season with high hopes for new Vancouver defenseman Jason Garrison.
"I knew Jason had a great shot but he has been a nice surprise for all of us," Sedin said. "He reads the play really well. He's really calm with the puck and he makes the easy play all the time." Goalie Cory Schneider faced Garrison in both Canuck scrimmages this week and was also impressed. "I saw about 15 of his shots so he's a shoot-first defenseman, which is great," Schneider commented. "I think we've all been very impressed with his fitness and his strength and I think he's going to be a big minute-eater for us this year." Garrison likely will play alongside Alex Edler on the power-play point.

Look for Jason Garrison to play the point on the first power play alongside Alex Edler.
Garrison signed as a UFA with the Canucks after scoring 16 goals for Florida last season, third best among defensemen. With Edler setting him up on the point, look for Garrison to have another great offensive season for his fantasy owners.

Jason Garrison is eager to make his Vancouver debut now that lockout is over.
"I am extremely excited that it worked out finally and we are able to get back on the ice," Garrison said Monday. "Obviously, for me it's going to be a lot of fun." He signed a six-year, $27.6 million deal with the Canucks in the summer after notching 16 goals and 33 points in 77 games with Florida in 2011-12. "I like to think of myself as a two-way player," he said. "I'm physical, can shoot the puck, but I think it's about working out of your own end first, working hard in your own end, getting pucks up and being first on pucks and wearing them down and then letting that go and starting on the offense. This team is super offensive, so it's going to be a little different for me."

Jason Garrison has been medically cleared to play after recovering from a groin injury.
He was bothered by the ailment for most of the fall and earned about a third of his $2.5 million 2012-13 salary while on the team's injured list. However, since he is fit to resume play he'll join his locked-out NHL brethren and stop receiving paychecks. Garrison inked a six-year, $27.6 million deal, which included a $3 million signing bonus, this past summer as a free agent following a career year with Florida in 2011-12.
