Benn (hip) is listed on the top line for Thursday night's contest against Pittsburgh, per Mark Stepneski of NHL.com.
EDGE Analysis
Benn dealt with a hip injury in the preseason but appears ready to rock for the season opener. It appears that he will be joined on the scoring line by Cody Eakin and Tyler Seguin. Benn collected the most points of anyone in the NHL last year, when he compiled 35 goals and 52 assists through a full season's worth of work.

Benn (hip) did not skate Monday but is expected to on Tuesday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Benn has been slowed down by a hip injury during the preseason that has cost him some practice and game action. With the Stars set to open the regular season Thursday against the Penguins, it doesn't appear as though the ailment is serious enough to sideline the 26-year-old, so he figures to return to his usual top-line spot by the season opener.

Benn got his first taste of game action in Tuesday's preseason win over St. Louis, posting a minus-2 rating with two shots and three hits.
EDGE Analysis
Benn had been skating, but was held out of games as he got comfortable following hip surgery over the summer. Benn skated with a frightening line featuring Tyler Seguin at center and Patrick Sharp on the other wing. Last season's Art Ross Trophy winner, expectations are already high for Benn, but the addition of Sharp on Dallas' top line could make that line even more dangerous.

Benn (hip) will play in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Blues, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.

Benn (hip) is on the ice for the Monday afternoon scrimmage, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Benn had surgery on both hips last April, so it's highly encouraging that the NHL's point leader (35 goals, 52 assists) from last year has been able to take to the ice so early in camp. The Stars will undoubtedly keep a hawk's eye on their prized center ahead of the regular-season.

Stars GM Jim Nill said he expects Benn (hip) to sit out the Stars' first four or five exhibition contests, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Benn hasn't experienced any setbacks in his recovery from offseason hip surgery, but the Stars seem of mind to bring him back slowly in the early stages of camp. He's been cleared to participate in full practices, and is still expected to play in the final one or two preseason games in preparation for the regular-season opener. All indications are that the Stars are just being cautious here, so Benn's potential absence in preseason games shouldn't affect his draft standing.

Dallas Stars center Jamie Benn is considered questionable for the start of training camp in September as he continues to recover from a pair of hip injuries, according to the Dallas Morning News. Benn underwent surgery on both hips after the season and was given a recovery timetable of four-to-five months. The 26-year-old recently increased the amount of skating he is doing but has yet to progress to more strenuous activities. "I’m skating three times a week now — it’s just working on the edges really," Benn said. "Workouts are picking up, but it’s still controlled. I get pretty antsy at times, but the trainers remind me that I’ve got plenty of time and just take it slow. We need to get off on the right foot, we need to be prepared, and we need to build on the things we did at the end of last season. We learned a lot, so we need to remember those lessons."

Benn has resumed skating on two occasions since undergoing surgery on both of his hips in the spring, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports. Benn believes he's ahead of schedule in his recovery from the procedures, but with training camp still a ways off, the Stars won't look to speed up his activity level quite yet. The league's leading point scorer last season with 35 goals and 52 assists, a healthier Benn should be primed for another big season in 2015-16 alongside Tyler Seguin.

Benn underwent a second procedure on his hip earlier this week, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. The Stars planned on having Benn go under the knife twice all along, as he needed to address impingements on each hip that kept him at less than 100 percent by the tail end of the season. The Art Ross Trophy winner is expected to be able to resume skating again in August, putting him on track to participate fully during training camp.

Benn underwent surgery on his hip Monday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. It's the first of two scheduled procedures during the offseason for Benn, who will rest up for the next week before having surgery on his other hip. He's expected to miss to require 4-to-5 months of recovery time, which could limit his availability during the initial stages of training camp. However, it's expected that the winger, who led the NHL in scoring with a career-high 87 points, will be ready to go by the time the 2015-16 campaign opens. With Tyler Seguin still pivoting him on the top line, Benn figures to warrant a first- or second-round selection in most fantasy formats.
