Benn was playing in his 300th career NHL game. He has been red hot lately, posting 10 goals with 19 points over his past 15 games. Benn remains a fantasy must-have in all pools, even with his poor minus-10 rating. The last time he has back-to-back scoreless games was Dec. 10-11.

Benn's pair of second-period points helped his team tie the game before allowing three unanswered goals in the final frame. He has piled up nine goals and nine assists in the past 13 games, yet has an even rating over that span as the Stars emerged victorious in just four of those contests.

Benn was heated after the game Sunday, quoting how "unacceptable" it was to end a game like that in a loss while fighting for a playoff chance. The captain can back it up too. He's currently on an offensive surge with seven goals and six assists in the past 10 games. This man seems determined to not let another hopeful season in Texas slip through his fingers.

The Dallas captain has picked up his offense of late with seven goals, 12 points and 39 shots through his past 10 games, and his fighting major was a welcomed bonus in formats including PIM. Benn isn't scoring as frequently as he has over the past three seasons, but his cross-category production is still exceptional, and he remains a high-end fantasy asset. A late-season surge could be in store, too.

Benn has lit the lamp in four consecutive outings, and the veteran has six goals and 12 points over the past 10 games. The blocked shots were a bit of a surprise, as normally it's his older brother Jordie Benn doing the sacrificing of his body. Benn will be looking to extend his point streak to seven games in Tuesday's game at Toronto. He scored on his only shot attempt Jan. 31 in the first meeting with the Leafs.

EDGE Analysis

He's racked up a five-game point streak, notching a power-play point in each of those contests. The plus-minus is still subpar at minus-9, but Benn's been getting his stats in order after a somewhat slow start to the campaign. Curiously, however, his physical play has dropped off a bit, as Benn's 64 hits in 48 games have him on pace for his lowest full-season total.

Benn's goal against Buffalo in Thursday's 4-3 win now gives him two goals and an assist in his past three games as the Stars snap a three-game losing streak.

EDGE Analysis

Since returning from a foot injury, Benn has three goals and four assists in his past eight games, giving him 41 points in 46 games on the season. He's proving yet again that he's one of the league's best players, and despite a five percent drop in shooting percentage has been scoring at a point-per-game pace over the past few weeks. He's an elite fantasy player who continues to provide good returns and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Benn scored a goal and handed out two assists (one on the power play) in Tuesday's 7-6 victory over the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

The Stars' captain was about as engaged in this one as we've seen all year -- perhaps in response to and/or anticipation of the Rangers' attempts to get payback on Cody Eakin for hitting Henrik Lundqvist the last time the two teams met. Benn spent much of the game chirping the Rangers' bench, and he backed up his words with cold, hard points. Of course, that's nothing new for the star center, who now has 11 goals and 38 points through 42 contests. He still has a minus-9 rating and is short of the last two seasons' production, but Benn has been operating at better than a point-per-game pace for more than a month now.

Benn (foot) will return to Dallas' lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Wings.

EDGE Analysis

Benn will slot back into his usual top-six role Thursday, skating with Cody Eakin and Patrick Eaves on the Stars' second line, and will also retake his spot on Dallas' top power-play unit. The 27-year-old pivot has been his usual productive self this campaign, racking up 34 points (10 goals, 24 assists) in 38 games, and remains an elite option in all fantasy formats.

Benn (foot) will not be healthy enough to play Tuesday against the Ducks, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

EDGE Analysis

Heika noted that the point-packing, power-play pivot was able to skate in the morning, but evidently Stars coach Lindy Ruff didn't see enough progress to give him the clearance to play. Benn, who's about to miss his fourth consecutive contest, will try to work his way back for Thursday's home game against the Red Wings.
