James Reimer allowed four goals on 26 shots in the Maple Leafs' 5-2 loss to Florida Tuesday night. In his first start of the Randy Carlyle era, Reimer virtually guaranteed that he'll be watching the team's next game from the bench. It's been a difficult season for the young netminder after a promising start to his career last year.

James Reimer allowed five goals on 23 shots as the Maple Leafs were outscored 5-3 by Florida Tuesday. One day after receiving a vote of confidence from GM Brian Burke, Reimer was far from stellar in this pivotal game, however his teammates deserve as much blame for this result. Coach Ron Wilson has already announced that Jonas Gustavsson will start against the Blackhawks on Wednesday.

Toronto GM Brian Burke gave young netminder James Reimer a vote of confidence on Monday. Burke reported that he "flat-out" rejected a trade offer for Reimer and said after the deadline passed that the 23-year-old goalie is "the real deal." Reimer is hoping to use that confidence as motivation, as his play has left a lot to be desired of late. "I respect Brian for what he has done for me and the faith that he has shown in me," Reimer said after practice Monday. "When a GM does that, you want to do everything that you can in your power to play hard for him. Hopefully, I can go out there and do my best and make him proud."

James Reimer allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Maple Leafs' 2-1 loss to the Sharks Thursday night. Reimer was one of the main reasons Toronto managed to claw their way back into the playoff race last season but the Leafs will need more consistent goaltending down the stretch this season if they want to hold on to a playoff spot. It's been hard for Reimer to prove that what he accomplished last season wasn't a fluke but "Optimus Reim" will have first crack in nets for these important games and we shall see if he is able to rekindle his second half magic again this year. Furthermore, "The Monster" keeps losing ground to Reimer. After an impressive run of play in the month of January, Gustavsson has now gone 0-3-1 in his past four starts. However, he could get the next start between the pipes.

James Reimer was pulled after allowing four goals on just 18 shots in a 6-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night. After being pulled in a 5-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens, Reimer seemed to have bounced back in his next start. However, after surrendering four goals on only 18 shots James Reimer was pulled again. Toronto requires more consistent goaltending down the stretch as they try to hold onto a playoff position.
