McCabe should be considered day-to-day ahead of Tuesday's rematch against the Flyers.

McCabe scored a goal and added an assist Saturday in a 6-4 win over Boston.

EDGE Analysis

McCabe shot over Jeremy Swayman's blocker from the left hashmarks early in the first period. It was his first goal of the season (11 points; 35 games), and the first goal from a Leafs defenseman since Chris Tanev lit the lamp on Nov. 30. That's a 16-game drought. McCabe isn't an offensive defender, but he does have 71 hits and 68 blocked shots. Still, his hit total is well off his massive 219 last season, so don't expect a return to that level this year.

McCabe notched an assist, three hits and a minus-2 rating in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Jets.

McCabe has a helper in consecutive contests, and he's earned four assists over his last seven outings. The defenseman is known for his physicality, but he can chip in some supporting offense every now and then. For the season, he has nine assists, 30 shots on net, 23 PIM, 61 hits and 59 blocked shots through 30 appearances.

McCabe notched an assist, two hits and four blocked shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings.

EDGE Analysis

McCabe has a helper in each of the last two games since he returned from missing five contests due to an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old blueliner was mired in an 11-game drought prior to the injury. He's now at seven helpers, 23 shots on net, 54 hits, 51 blocked shots, 21 PIM and a plus-10 rating over 25 appearances. McCabe is worth a look in formats that reward physical play -- he's locked in as a top-four option on the Maple Leafs' blue line.

McCabe will be back in the lineup after missing the previous five games due to his upper-body injury. Prior to his absence, the blueliner was stuck in an 11-game pointless streak dating back to Nov. 2 versus St. Louis. After scoring eight goals over 73 regular-season games last year, the Wisconsin native has yet to find the back of the net this year.
