McCabe set up Auston Matthews' game-tying tally 55 seconds into the third period. With five assists over his last five games, McCabe has chipped in more than his usual share of offense. The 31-year-old defenseman is enjoying a solid campaign with 22 points, 112 hits, 131 blocked shots, 73 shots on net, 40 PIM and a plus-23 rating over 64 appearances. He has exceeded the 20-point mark in four straight seasons while adding ample physicality.

McCabe put up three assists Thursday in a 4-3 win over the Rangers. He also registered three hits and two blocks.

EDGE Analysis

This was McCabe's first three-point game in blue and white. He's not known for his offense -- these points were his first in nine games, and he has just 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) in 60 games this season. But McCabe has arguably been the Leafs best defender on the ice, especially in reducing chances and snuffing out the opposition's best players. His fantasy value comes from his hits (109) and blocks (123).

McCabe recorded two shots on goal, two blocks and one hit in 21:34 of ice time during Monday's 6-3 win against the Flames.

EDGE Analysis

McCabe led all Maple Leafs skaters in ice time Monday (21:34), but that was mostly due to the amount of time Toronto spent shorthanded. The Leafs allowed four power plays and Calgary didn't score on any of them in part because of the work the 31-year-old did shorthanded, out there for over four of the eight minutes on the kill. Unfortunately, shorthanded prowess doesn't necessarily translate to fantasy relevance and with no points in seven games, McCabe doesn't really warrant much fantasy consideration.

McCabe scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, blocked five shots and went plus-3 in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Blackhawks.

EDGE Analysis

McCabe spent parts of two years with the Blackhawks, but he came back to haunt his former team in this contest. His second-period tally gave the Maple Leafs their first lead of the game, and he also set up Chris Tanev's insurance goal in the third. McCabe has three points and a plus-8 rating over six outings in February. He's up to two goals, 16 points, 57 shots on net, 99 blocked shots, 94 hits and a plus-20 rating through 48 contests overall, adding some fantasy value in formats that reward non-scoring production.

McCabe notched an assist and three hits in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Kraken.

EDGE Analysis

McCabe set up Matthew Knies on an insurance tally in the second period. The helper was McCabe's first point since Jan. 16, when he had two assists against the Devils. The 31-year-old blueliner plays a physical role in the Maple Leafs' top four, so producing offense is secondary. He's at 14 points, 52 shots on net, 91 hits, 91 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a plus-14 rating through 45 contests.

McCabe (upper body) returned to action Thursday in a 4-3 overtime win over the Devils. He played a game-high 24:16 and had two assists, two hits, five shots, five blocked shots and a plus-3 rating.

EDGE Analysis

McCabe spent four games on injured reserve after an upper-body injury that occurred in a fight. He made a big impact on the blue line and in fantasy box scores. McCabe has just 13 points, including 12 assists, in 37 games this season. Points aren't really a guarantee with the defender, but those secondary stats of hits and blocks are a valuable fantasy commodity.
