Guentzel picked up the primary assist on Sidney Crosby's goal early in the first period, but the Penguins would be blanked from that point on. The 25-year-old winger logged more minutes than any Pittsburgh forward in Tuesday's loss, finishing the night with 22:51 of ice time.

Considering Guentzel was able to power through the injury, there shouldn't be any concern among fantasy owners that this will carry into 2019-20. However, it does seem to explain why the youngster went ice cold versus the Islanders, notching just one goal after his phenomenal 40-goal campaign. Despite the postseason slump, Guentzel is almost certainly a lock to continue playing with Sidney Crosby next year on Pittsburgh's top line and could join the No. 1 power-play unit as well.

Guentzel scored the Penguins' only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Islanders in Game 4 on Tuesday. The Islanders swept the Penguins in the first-round series.

The 24-year-old found an open spot in the offensive zone, and Sidney Crosby set Guentzel up with a beautiful feed to set up his goal in the first minute of the game. At the time, it seemed like that was going to set the tone for the Penguins avoiding elimination Tuesday. Instead, the Islanders tied the game within the next two minutes, and the Penguins didn't score again. Despite his goal Tuesday, Guentzel came up small in the series, as that was his only point. He was hardly alone, though, as the Penguins only scored six goals in the sweep.

Guentzel scored a goal Saturday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Guentzel scored his 40th goal of the season in the third period Saturday to force the game into overtime. That solidified the Pens' position in the standings and kept them from slipping into the wild card spot. Guentzel has seen huge growth in his game in his third season. He had 16 goals in 40 games in 2016-17 and 22 goals in 82 games last season. Sidney Crosby finally has an elite winger to play beside.

Guentzel scored his 39th goal of the season Thursday in a 4-1 win over Detroit.

Guentzel scored his 36th goal of the season and also had an assist in Thursday's 5-0 win over Buffalo.

With points in six of his last seven and goals in three straight, it's hard to find a player hotter that Guentzel at the present moment. The 24-year-old has 68 points in 2018-19, 20 more than he had a season ago, and a Saturday date with St. Louis is on tap. Guentzel scored in the two teams' only other meeting this season, so there's little reason to doubt the young forward's ability to stay hot over the weekend.

Guentzel tallied his 35th goal of the season against Washington on Tuesday.

Guentzel has been red hot of late, as he has six goals and four helpers in his previous six contests. The winger is having a career year with 66 points in 70 games and could make a run at the 80 mark if he keeps up his torrid pace, starting with the Sabres on Thursday.
