Allen is 2-3-1 in his last six starts and it was the sixth straight game that he faced at least 41 shots.

They have lost nine of their past 12 games, which means Allen or any replacement will be hard pressed to earn quality points from the blue paint.

The Canadiens were able to dig out of a 4-1 second-period hole and tied it heading into the third, but a fresh onslaught from the Panthers resulted in two more goals against Allen and an empty-netter to seal it. Working behind a porous defense, Allen should continue to see a heavy workload whenever he mans the crease moving forward.
