Defenseman Jacob Trouba of the Winnipeg Jets is slowly but surely becoming a valuable fantasy player. Trouba clearly is an offensive-minded defenseman. He is on a four game point streak with one goal and three assists.

Jacob Trouba seems to blossoming into a star before our eyes. The Jets' 2012 first-round draft pick has been playing excellent hockey and seems to be gaining confidence with each game. Trouba has registered eight points in the Jets' last 13 games and he is becoming one of the Jets' go-to-guys to lug the puck up the ice. If Trouba can be acquired cheaply in your pool, do it without delay. He will cost significantly more in the coming weeks.

Jacob Trouba earned a pair of assists on Monday night. The rookie defenseman had a goal and an assist in his NHL debut back on Oct. 1, but after that he went 10 straight games without earning a point. Monday's contest versus the New York Rangers was his fourth appearance since he returned to the lineup from a neck injury. Coach Claude Noel likes Trouba's skill set and he's quickly becoming a reliable defender for the team.

Jacob Trouba (neck) will return from a 17-game absence on Monday night against New Jersey. "We'll monitor his minutes but I think he's ready to go. He'll be enthusiastic to play. We're looking forward to having him back," coach Claude Noel said of Trouba. "And now we have seven good defensemen. They've played pretty well, our guys, and it's good. It creates some competition." Trouba had a goal and an assist in his debut, but he didn't have a point in his next seven contests and picked up a minus rating in most of those outings. He has plenty of potential but take a wait-and-see approach with him.

Jacob Trouba has received clearance to return to the lineup from a neck injury. It will be decided after Monday's morning skate if he will play against the New Jersey Devils. "I'm excited to start playing again, that's for sure," Trouba said after Sunday's practice. "It's been a rough month... however long it's been for me. I'm not used to not playing." He has been sidelined for the past 17 games.

Jacob Trouba (neck) took part in his first practice with his teammates on Saturday. "I feel good. It's good to get back out there and skate with everyone," Trouba said after practice. "It feels good with the pain and that kind of stuff. But we have to strengthen it up because if the same thing happens again, you've got a bigger problem. So it's kind of a waiting game, making sure I get strong, doing neck exercises every day. I'm waiting until it gets strong enough and I can play confidently." He wore a no-contact jersey in the session, but he appears to be closer to a return.
