Markstrom will start between the pipes in Saturday's home game against the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, compiling a 1-1-1 record while registering a 2.30 GAA and .927 save percentage over three appearances. The Swedish backstop will look to stay sharp Saturday in a matchup with a Flames team that just fell to the Senators by a score of 6-0 Friday.

Markstrom allowed three goals on 19 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Winnipeg, with the fourth goal scored into an empty net.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom surrendered a deflating pair of goals in the final five minutes of the second period to go down 3-1, taking the wind out of the Canucks' sails after they outshot Winnipeg 12-6 in the frame. The Swedish netminder falls to 1-1-1 on the young season and has mostly been sharp with a 2.30 GAA and .927 save percentage.

Markstrom was given the starting nod for Thursday's contest with Winnipeg.
EDGE Analysis
The Swede has had a phenomenal start to 2017-18, his first season that he's entered as a franchise's undisputed No. 1 goaltender, posting a 1.94 GAA and .948 save percentage to go along with a 1-0-1 record. A high second-round pick in 2008, Markstrom's talent is undeniable, but like many other tall netminders, he took a longer period of time to adjust to the NHL game. If the Canucks' defense is able to limit high-quality chances against the Jets, as well as throughout the season, Markstrom could be a great option in goal for any fantasy format.

Markstrom stopped 40 of 42 shots in Tuesdays shootout loss to the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom has been exceptional in his first two starts of the season, but he had no answer for Kyle Turris and Mark Stone in the shootout Tuesday. The 27-year-old owns a .948 save percentage through two contests and is showing why he could emerge as the clear-cut starter in Vancouver this season. While he's been sensational thus far, it's worth noting he's given up a soft goal in each contest. We wouldn't be too worried, however, as things appear to be trending upwards for Markstrom and he's a solid fantasy play right now.

Markstrom turned away 33 of 35 shots in Saturday's season-opening win against the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
It was a terrific start to the season for the Swedish netminder, who stymied a high-powered offense that includes superstar forward Connor McDavid. With Ryan Miller shipped off to Anaheim, Markstrom has the chance to really emerge as the go-to-guy in Vancouver. He's had consistency issues over his NHL career, but his play over the last couple of seasons indicates that he's heading in the right direction. Look for Markstrom to see his heaviest workload yet this year and become a fantasy asset.

Markstrom will start between the pipes Saturday against Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
It's Opening Night for the Canucks and naturally they'll turn to Markstrom, the No. 1 netminder. Unfortunately for the 6-foot-6 Swede, a season debut against Connor McDavid and the Oilers certainly isn't ideal. After starting just 53 contests over the last two seasons with Vancouver, the team is hoping the 27-year-old is ready to take on a full-time workload.

Markstrom stopped all 19 shots -- including 12 on the penalty kill -- he faced Saturday against the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom looked like the starter that Vancouver needs him to be after the offseason departure of Ryan Miller. Although it is just one preseason game, he outplayed his presumed backup, Anders Nilsson, who let up three goals on 13 shots. Tracking Markstrom's preseason would be wise, as he stands to see plenty of action on a rebuilding Canucks team, and he could be a late-round steal for your fantasy lineup.

Markstrom (knee) will share netminding duties with backup ANders Nilsson in Saturday's preseason contest.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom's season was limited to just 26 outings after an incident during the team's skills competition resulted in a knee injury that required surgery. Ryan Miller has moved on to Anaheim, which leaves the 27-year-old Markstrom as the presumptive No. 1 -- although Nilsson could compete for the job if the Swede struggles early in the year.

Markstrom has resumed skating and announced that his knee is "healing up great."
EDGE Analysis
The Swedish backstop made an April 11 prediction that he'd be healthy in a month, and while it wasn't explicitly stated that he's fully recovered from surgery, his returning to the ice this early in the offseason leads us to believe that he'll be ready at the start of the 2017-18 campaign. Ryan Miller is a pending unrestricted free agent, whereas Markstrom is signed through the 2019-20 campaign and looking to secure a role as a full-fledged starter for the first time in his career.

Markstrom (knee) said he'll be healthy in a month, clearing the way for him to be ready to go at the start of the 2017-18 season.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom missed the final 24 games of the season after injuring his knee in a skills competition, but with the entire offseason to rehab, there's no reason to think he won't be fully ready to go and compete for the starting job during the next campaign. The Swedish keeper posted mediocre numbers overall this season, showing a 10-11-3 record, .910 save percentage, and 2.63 GAA while failing to record a shutout during any of his starts.
