Markstrom will be in goal for Tuesday's matchup with Los Angeles, Irfaan Gaffar of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom posted a subpar 3-4-2 record in his previous 10 outings, along with a 2.88 GAA and .910 save percentage. Last time these two clubs squared off, the 27-year-old gave up four goals on 36 shots in defeat. The netminder probably shouldn't be banking on a lot of offensive support considering the team is averaging 2.57 goals (fifth fewest in the NHL).

Markstrom stopped 30 of 34 shots in Saturday's loss to the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom got victimized by a surging Edmonton squad, who got a three-point performance from Finnish stud Jesse Puljujarvi. Markstrom had been playing well prior to Saturday, but the Canucks' starting netminder has failed to really put together an extended impressive stretch of play. His up-and-down tendencies have led to a mediocre 12-15-5 record with a lackluster .908 save percentage. The Canucks continue to fall and it's hard to trust Markstrom in anything but the deepest of leagues.

Markstrom will guard the visiting net Saturday against the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom has thrived in the blue paint during the last couple of contests, stopping all but two pucks sent his way in each of the two games to pick up a couple of victories. He will attempt to extend that streak to three games Saturday, taking on an Oilers club that's tied with the Blue Jackets for the fewest goals per game (1.57) in January.

Markstrom made 21 saves on 23 shots in Sunday's overtime win over the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom looked solid all game, but he made a spectacular save on Jared Spurgeon in overtime before Brandon Sutter went the other way and buried the winner. The Swedish netminder has impressed in consecutive victories, advancing to 12-14-5 on the season with a .909 save percentage. Markstrom has certainly been up-and-down this season, but his recent inspired play makes him a decent goaltending start in most fantasy leagues right now.

Markstrom will get the road start against Minnesota on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Goaltending has been a liability for the Canucks at times, but Markstrom has played respectably of late, but he's lacked the offensive support to get the wins, posting a 1-1-1 record over his last three starts. The Wild haven't lost at home in regulation since Dec. 16, and since the Canucks have scored two or fewer goals in four of their last five games, Markstrom is a difficult start for Sunday's four-game slate.

Markstrom saved 27 of 29 shots during Friday's 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
The Swede entered with just a single win, .897 save percentage and 3.43 GAA through his past eight appearances, so this checks out as a solid showing. Additionally, it's encouraging to see Markstrom and the Canucks capitalize on a favorable schedule spot, as the Blue Jackets entered on the second leg of a back-to-back set after losing to Buffalo on Thursday. There won't be many cushy matchups moving ahead, so Markstrom's fantasy value is somewhat limited. However, he's clearly the No. 1 goalie in Vancouver, so he can reward as a spot starter against weak opponents.

Markstrom was named Friday's road starter against the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
The sample size is quite small, but Markstrom's fared well against the Blue Jackets in his career, setting aside 44 of 47 shots for a save percentage of .936 over three appearances -- two of his goals allowed in that span took place on a Columbus power play. Markstrom has yet to win in 2018, but he makes for a sneaky value play in daily settings facing a team that owns a minus-2 goal differential, despite its second-place standing in the Metropolitan Division.

Markstrom made 33 saves on 36 shots in Tuesday's loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom has actually played quite well in his last two outings, but the losses continue to pile up. The Canucks are free-falling in the standings and Markstrom has managed just one win in his last eight appearances. He's valuable in some deeper formats for his mediocre .908 save percentage and 2.77 GAA, but his 10 wins in 31 appearances are pretty telling of the direction the Canucks are currently heading in.

Markstrom will start Tuesday's game in Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom is facing a tough stretch right now having lost five of his last six starts while accumulating a poor .893 save percentage and allowing two goals or more goals in each start over that stretch. The Swede will have an uphill battle waiting for him against a hot Capitals offense that has netted four goals or more in each of the last four games.

Markstrom stopped 34 of 36 shots in Saturday's shootout loss to the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom turned in a very strong performance, but Tyler Bozak and Auston Matthews struck in the shootout to hand him the loss. Markstrom's play has improved in general of late, but he still owns a lackluster 10-13-5 record with a .907 save percentage. Considering his inconsistency and lacking rate stats, it's hard to rely on the the Swedish netminder in most fantasy settings right now.
