Josefson (illness) practiced with the team Monday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Josefson was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 27, meaning he could return at any time. His presence at practice Monday likely indicates he is overcoming the illness that sidelined him, and he could be ready to return as soon as Tuesday against the Sabres.

Josefson (illness) has been placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 27. The Devils haven't said that Josefson is dealing with mumps, but such a diagnosis wouldn't be surprising. Stephen Gionta is also headed to injured reserve because of an illness, while Mike Sislo has been recalled from AHL Albany.

Josefson is dealing with an illness, but the Devils' haven't indicated whether the mumps is a possibility, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Josefson did play in Saturday's game against Rangers, but didn't practice Sunday which could lead to him missing Monday's game. Seth Helgeson was dressed as a forward at Sunday's practice in his place, but the Devils could make a move Monday if he is unable to go.

Josefson (groin) will play Saturday against the Rangers, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Josefson will return to the Devils' lineup after missing the team's last three games due to injury. Josefson has tallied three points and 23 shots on goal through 25 games this season.

Josefson (groin) will remain out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Hurricanes, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Josefson hasn't resumed skating since injuring his groin last Wednesday in a loss to the Senators. He still remains on the Devils' active roster heading into Tuesday's contest, but it appears the team will simply play with 11 forwards and seven defensemen instead of moving Josefson to IR and calling up an extra center.

Josefson was not on the ice for the Devils' pre-game warm-ups on Friday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Because Josefson was not on the ice for the team's pre-game warm-ups, it's hard to imagine a scenario where he would be able to suit up Friday for the Devils' match-up with Tampa Bay. Tim Sestito will likely center New Jersey's fourth-line in place of Josefson.

Though he didn't take part in the Devils' morning skate, Josefson (groin) hasn't been ruled out for Friday's game against the Lightning, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said that Josefson is still a possibility Friday night, since the center took the option of sitting out the morning skate in attempt to aid his recovery. He'll officially be a coach's decision for the match, leaving Pete DeBoer to make the choice between Josefson or Tim Sestito as his fourth-line center.

Josefson (groin) will not play Friday against the Lightning, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Josefson missed the Devils' morning skate Friday, indicating the groin tweak he suffered Wednesday night wasn't as minor as the team had initially led on. Tim Sestito was recalled from AHL Albany on Thursday and will fill his Josefson's spot as the Devils' fourth-line center.

Josefson tweaked his groin in Wednesday's loss to the Senators and was forced out of practice early Thursday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Josefson wasn't forced to miss significant time due to the injury Wednesday, but he didn't feel right while skating at practice the following day. He's still optimistic about his chances of playing Friday against Tampa Bay, but his availability won't be known until the Devils complete their morning skate that day.

Josefson will make his season debut Friday against the Stars, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports. With Jordin Tootoo (bruised foot) landing on IR, Josefson will be tasked with taking his place on the Devils' fourth line. Josefson had been a healthy scratch in each of the Devils' previous six games of the season and figures to return to the press box when Tootoo is activated from IR, which could happen at some point next week.
