Eichel picked up an assist in Sunday's win over the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
The apple snapped a mini two-game pointless drought. Eichel is now up to seven assists in six games, but he is still searching for his first goal. It wasn't for a lack of effort in Sunday's meeting, as he fired eight shots on net. The goals are sure to come, but it's good to see Eichel providing offense even if it is purely in the form of assists.

Eichel dished out three assists and had three shots in Monday's 6-1 win at Philadelphia. He also went 14-for-25 (56.0 percent) in the faceoff circle.
EDGE Analysis
Eichel has yet to score a goal through three games, but he's already managed to pile up six assists. He was in on back-to-back Sam Reinhart goals in the second period and drew the second assist on Victor Olofsson's power-play tally late in the third. It's just a matter of time before Eichel finds the net -- he scored a career-high 36 times last season -- but it's good to see him being productive for managers in the meantime.

Eichel set up two goals in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Eichel led all forwards in the game in ice time with 22:12. And one of his helpers came on the power play, where he worked alongside newcomer Taylor Hall. Eichel delivered at a 1.15 point-per-game pace in 2019-20 and his game is headed to even higher levels. We can't wait to see what Hall and Eichel can do together. Thursday was a solid start.

As expected, Eichel (upper body) is on the ice for Wednesday's practice, Martin Biron of MSG Western New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
An upper-body injury kept Eichel off the ice for the first few days of Buffalo's training camp, but he'll have plenty of time to get up to speed ahead of the Sabres' regular-season opener against Washington on Jan. 14. He'll be centering what could end up being one of the more dangerous lines in the NHL with Taylor Hall and Victor Olofsson set to skate on his wings.

Eichel (upper body) is expected to return to practice Wednesday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eichel has been unavailable up to this point, but the team didn't sound overly concerned about the star player's injury and listed him as day-to-day. A Wednesday return would give Eichel more than a week to prepare for Buffalo's Jan. 14 season opener against the Capitals. Teammates Victor Olofsson (upper body) and Linus Ullmark (quarantine) are also expected back Wednesday.

Eichel (upper body) won't practice Sunday, but coach Ralph Krueger isn't concerned about his availability for the Sabres' regular-season opener against the Capitals on Jan. 14, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Sabres are being extremely cautious with their franchise cornerstone, but it sounds like Eichel should make his training camp debut sooner rather than later. The 24-year-old pivot will be skating with the best linemates of his career in Taylor Hall and Victor Olofsson (arm) in 2020-21, so he's poised to have his best season yet.

Eichel will miss Friday's training camp session due to an upper-body issue.
EDGE Analysis
According to the team's release, Eichel is considered day-to-day so it's unlikely that this injury will affect his availability for Opening Night against Washington on Jan. 14. Still, the elite center will need time to get acclimated to playing alongside offseason addition Taylor Hall. Despite the shortened campaign, Eichel could still push for the 20-goal mark this year, which would extend his streak to six straight seasons.

Eichel has racked up 36 goals and 78 points in 68 games this campaign.
EDGE Analysis
Eichel has already set a new career high in goals, game-winning goals (9) and power-play points (27) this year, and if the NHL ultimately resumes regular-season play, he won't have any trouble eclipsing the personal best in points (82) he set in 2018-19, too. At just 23 years old, Eichel's best years are still ahead of him.

Eichel scored a power-play goal on four shots and went 12-for-22 (54.5 percent) on faceoffs in Monday's 3-2 shootout win over Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Eichel got all of a one-timer from the left faceoff circle to give the Sabres a 2-0 lead less than a minute into the second period. It was his 36th goal of the season, extending his career high, but his first point in the last seven games. Despite the brief scoring slump, Eichel's 78 points in 68 games have him on track to surpass the 82 he racked up a year ago.

Eichel, who was held without a point for the second straight game in Wednesday's loss to Colorado, didn't take a faceoff as he's nursing an upper-body injury, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
It sounds like Eichel will play through the pain as the Sabres try to rally for a playoff spot, though it's something to keep an eye on as it's rare he gets held off the scoreboard in back-to-back games. That said, Eichel's got 77 points in 62 games this season and should be in your lineup whenever he's on the ice, pain or no pain.
