Bryzgalov was the first goalie off the ice at the Ducks' morning skate and is expected to start Thursday against the Sharks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.

The Ducks will kick off a back-to-back set Thursday, presenting Bryzgalov with the rare opportunity to pick up a start while Frederik Andersen prepares for Friday's game against the Blackhawks. The Ducks have lost just one of their nine January contests, so the team may not even need Bryzgalov -- who owns an awful 3.71 GAA and .854 save percentage over four outings -- to be especially sharp to dispatch the Sharks.

Bryzgalov earned his first win of the season Friday, only needing to turn aside 14 shots in a 5-1 win over the visiting Devils.

Although he really wasn't tested outside of Martin Havlat's first-period power-play marker, it was nice to see Bryz get back in the win column in his fourth appearance with his new team. He doesn't figure to get much action with workhorse Freddy Andersen seeing the majority of the time in the Ducks' blue paint, but in back-to-back situations such as this one -- where Anaheim plays again Saturday against a tougher opponent in the Kings -- Bryzgalov makes for an intriguing spot start on an elite team.

Bryzgalov will garner the start in goal for Friday's game against the Devils, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.

Bryzgalov will get a rare turn as the Ducks kick off a back-to-back set Friday, with Frederik Andersen starting the second half of the twin bill Saturday against the Kings. The netminder has looked extremely rusty over his three appearances with the Ducks, contributing a 4.93 GAA and .836 save percentage.

Bryzgalov surrendered three goals on 29 shots en route to a 4-1 loss to the visiting Rangers on Wednesday. The fourth was an empty-netter.

Making just his second start and third appearance with the Ducks this season, Bryzgalov failed to record his first win, posting a save percentage below .900 (.897) for the third straight game. Until he shows the Ducks brass he's capable of winning a game for his new squad, expect him to be stapled to the bench while Freddy Andersen continues to pile up the starts.

Bryzgalov is in line to start Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.

Bryzgalov left the ice first during morning skate, and is thus in line to make his second start for the Ducks, marking his first action since Dec. 19. The 34-year-old gave up six goals in a disastrous showing that night against the Senators, prompting coach Bruce Boudreau to lean heavily on No. 1 goalie Frederik Andersen ever since. Bryzgalov has a lot of work to do before he can earn more regular appearances as the backup, but a strong showing against the Rangers would be a good place to begin.

Bryzgalov made his first start of the season Friday, giving up six goals on 31 shots in a loss to Ottawa.

Not a good night for Bryz, who has a disastrous .789 save percentage and 6.40 GAA through two appearances this season. While the Ducks may be leading the Western Conference with 49 points, this Bryzgalov experiment might not end up working out. It's still very early, however, so we'll need to see more of the 34-year-old in action to be certain of his future. If he can find his groove, Bryz could make for a solid fantasy option as the backup to starter Frederik Andersen.

Bryzgalov will be between the pipes for Friday's game against the Senators.

Bryzgalov played briefly off the bench in his season debut Tuesday, but Friday's game will be the first he starts this season. He will square off against an Ottawa team that won its last time out but has done so just four times in its last 13 games.

Bryzgalov made his season debut in Tuesday's loss to the Leafs, giving up two goals on seven shots in relief of Frederik Andersen.

Toronto was all over the Ducks in this one, as neither Andersen or Bryzgalov could make enough stops. It was Bryz's first game in an Anaheim sweater since Nov. 7, 2007, and his first start since 2007 with the franchise that drafted him will likely come Thursday or Friday, when the Ducks play a back-to-back set.

Bryzgalov is expected to start either Thursday against the Canadiens or Friday against the Senators, Lance Pugmire of the LA Times reports.

Bryzgalov signed a one-year deal with the Ducks on Tuesday of last week, and is reportedly already in pretty good shape. Fantasy owners should still try to avoid him until it's clear that he'll be given a decent workload in net for Anaheim.

Bryzgalov signed a one-year, $2.88 million contract with the Ducks on Tuesday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.

Bryzgalov will join AHL Norfolk for a conditioning assignment that kicks off Wednesday, but he may only need a couple starts in the minors before joining the parent club. The Ducks have granted the last 15 starts in the net to No. 1 goalie Frederik Andersen, so the impending arrival of Bryzgalov could provide some much-needed relief. However, Bryzgalov isn't expected to pose much of a challenge to Andersen's standing as the No. 1 goalie, though his decent-sized contract could lock him in as the top backup even once John Gibson (groin) is back healthy.
