Bryzgalov is set to practice with AHL Norfolk on Tuesday and start for them Wednesday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. The deployment to Norfolk is expected to be the final step for the Ducks in their evaluation of Bryzgalov, who is expected to sign with the team later this week. Unless he implodes in his outing Wednesday with Norfolk or otherwise demonstrates that his conditioning isn't up to par, he'll be poised to join the Ducks soon and take over as their backup netminder.

Bryzgalov said he expects to be back at full speed in 10 days, Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times reports. Since being cut by the Wild in training camp, Bryzgalov has been left to stay in shape on his own. It shouldn't take him too long to get enough workouts in before the Ducks feel comfortable signing him, which could happen at some point next week. At that point, he would become the top backup to Frederik Andersen, with current No. 2 Igor Bobkov then returning to the minors.

Bryzgalov agreed to join the Ducks on a tryout basis Wednesday, Yahoo! Sports reports. Injuries to John Gibson (groin) and Jason LaBarbera (upper body) have created an opening for the backup goalie gig in Anaheim, and it appears coach Bruce Boudreau would prefer to have a veteran behind 25-year-old Frederik Andersen. Just like the Martin Brodeur's situation with St. Louis, Bryzgalov will work out for the Ducks just to make sure his conditioning is up to par, but it appears likely that he'll sign with the team in the coming days. Bryzgalov was useful for a time with the Wild when he was acquired late last season, but proved inconsistent when his number was called during the playoffs.

The Wild released Bryzgalov from his professional tryout contract Monday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Bryzgalov was brought in to provide some depth during training camp, but he will move on with the Wild set to open the season with Darcy Kuemper and Niklas Backstrom as their goaltenders.

Bryzgalov gave up two goals in 12 shots for Minnesota in Thursday's exhibition loss to Pittsburgh. Bryzgalov is with the Wild on a professional tryout offer. He was brought in with Josh Harding's broken foot and when Darcy Kuemper was unsigned. However, with Bryzgalov giving up four goals in his first two exhibition games, Kuemper under contract and Niklas Backstrom healthy, it seems unlikely Bryzgalov will make the Wild roster unless the team keeps three goalies.

Bryzgalov agreed to a professional tryout offer with the Wild on Wednesday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Bryzgalov will have a good chance at sticking with the Wild so long as restricted free agent Darcy Kuemper remains unsigned, which could possibility carry over until the start of the regular season. Though Bryzgalov has fallen on hard times since signing his much-maligned megadeal with the Flyers a few years ago, he was superb during his 12-game run with the Wild late last season, going 7-1-3 with a 2.12 GAA and three shutouts. If he does end up opening the season with the Wild, it would likely be in a backup capacity to Niklas Backstrom.

Minnesota has approached Bryzgalov about coming into training camp on a tryout, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. With Josh Harding suffering an ankle injury this summer and Darcy Kuemper unsigned and threatening to play overseas, the Wild may bring back Bryzgalov to serve as Josh Harding's backup.

The Pioneer Press is reporting that Ilya Bryzgalov will not return to the Minnesota Wild for the 2014-15 season. Bryzgalov is eligible for unrestricted free agency and that's the way it looks things will progress as the Wild will go with Josh Harding, Niklas Backstrom and Darcy Kuemper as their three netminders. Stay tuned as some NHL team should take a shot at the former number one goalie in Phoenix and Philadelphia.

Ilya Bryzgalov is eligible for unrestricted free agency this July and it's unclear if he'll be back in Minnesota. Still, he thoroughly enjoyed his time with the Wild. "I've been so happy here," he said. "I wish we can accomplish more. It is what it is. My personal experience was probably the best team I've played [for], best organization I've been [in]." Coach Mike Yeo was also pleased to have Bryzgalov in the organization. "I'm really proud of him, what he brought to our group," said Minnesota's bench boss. "You know we all heard stories about Bryz and all I can say is this guy was an unbelievable teammate and came into some really tough situations and he was incredibly bought in to our team."

Ilya Bryzgalov blocked 25 of 27 shots in Minnesota's 2-1 overtime loss to Chicago Tuesday evening at Xcel Energy Center. Bryzgalov played a solid game and he finished his playoffs with a 3-6-2 record. He also has a 2.63 goal-against average and .885 save percentage. Bryzgalov played a good series against the Blackhawks and Darcy Kuemper probably couldn't play any better, if he would have been healthy.
