Parros announced his retirement from professional hockey Friday, Elliott Teaford of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. The 34-year-old spent nine seasons as an enforcer for the Kings, Avalanche, Ducks, Panthers and Canadiens, but it's his tenure with Anaheim for which he'll be best remembered. Parros appeared in 22 games last season with Montreal, with the limited action the byproduct of a scary injury that occurred during a fight with the Leafs' Colton Orr in the opener. With fewer teams these days rostering enforcer-types like Parros, the winger didn't notice much interest in the offseason and decided to call it a career.

George Parros won't be back with the Montreal Canadiens next season, according to Richard Labbe of La Presse. The tough guy won't be offered a contract by the Canadiens, so he will be free to test the market as an unrestricted free agent. Parros suited up in 27 games with Montreal this campaign, but he didn't dress in the playoffs.

George Parros will likely play Saturday night against the Panthers. He is a frequent healhty scratch but could play if Tomas Plekanec does not return from tending to a family matter in Montreal in time to play in Miami. If you need some PIMs you could start Parros against the Panthers.

George Parros will be a healthy scratch against Carolina Saturday night. He will sit in the press box so that Francis Bouilion can dress as the Habs' seventh defenseman. If you were counting on Parros for PIMs Saturday, make some other arrangements.

George Parros logged a season-high 7:01 of ice time in Tuesday's win over Carolina. He was back in the lineup that night after a three-game absence. In 14 games this season, Parros has no points and 42 penalty minutes. He has suffered a pair of concussions which could limit his willingness to engage in fisticuffs. If he isn't picking up penalty minutes then he shouldn't be on your fantasy roster.

George Parros (concussion) will be back in Montreal's lineup Saturday night. He will dress against the Chicago Blackhawks and Francis Bouillon will head to the press box. Parros has been out of action since Dec. 16 because of his second concussion of the 2013-14 campaign.

George Parros (concussion) was cleared for contact on Tuesday, but he was scratched for Wednesday's game against Philadelphia. He took part in the pregame warmup but the Canadiens chose to dress seven defensemen instead. Parros looks like he won't have to wait much longer to get back into the lineup.

George Parros (concussion) hasn't been cleared for contact yet, but he thinks that will come soon. He visited with a concussion specialist at the University of Michigan recently and he has been skating with his teammates. "I've been feeling pretty good, actually. There are rumours out there that I've been oversymptomatic (but) I've felt pretty good," said Parros. "I'm going through all the steps that we feel are necessary to make sure we're making the right decision." He hasn't played since Dec. 14 because of his second concussion this season and he's appeared in just nine total games this year.

George Parros (concussion) skated for the first time on Wednesday since he was injured last Saturday. "Like I said (Tuesday), he's feeling really good," coach Michel Therrien said. "So that's a good sign." Parros isn't traveling with the team and it's unclear when he'll be available to return to the lineup.

George Parros suffered a concussion in Saturday's game and he's out indefinitely. He was hurt during a fight with the Islanders tough guy Eric Boulton. Parros missed time earlier this season with a concussion as well.
