It shouldn't come as much of a surprise, as the Avs certainly need all the help they can muster offensively. With 46 points through 65 games, he's once again proven to be a valuable fantasy option, and should slot back into a top-six role and onto the power play.

Landeskog will miss Colorado's next three contests after being suspended by the league for a cross-check to the head of Anaheim's Simon Despres, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.

While no team likes to see their players make this type of selfish decision, its extra upsetting when it is your captain and leader. Landeskog is fortunate that the Avalanche's upcoming schedule -- Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Calgary -- is not that difficult and the team could still tally some victories. The winger will be missed from daily lineups as he has netted 46 points in 65 outings this season, including three goals and six assists in his last 10 nights.

Landeskog scored a power-play goal to go along with an assist, two PIM, and four hits in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Panthers.

Landeskog has six points in his last four outings and hasn't been shying away from firing at goal, launching 15 at net in that span. While the winger only has two scores to show for it, it's encouraging to see the aggressive mindset as of late. Averaging close to 20 minutes of ice time over the past four, Landeskog will look to continue his torrid pace for owners to enjoy.

Colorado fell 5-3 to Detroit in the game despite a strong effort from the Avs' second line featuring Landeskog and Nathan MacKinnon. Landeskog has put up back-to-back multi-point games and is up to 15 goals and 43 points in 60 games on the season. The 23-year-old hasn't lit the lamp very frequently this year, but he's fired 10 shots on goal in his last two outings and has been held off the scoresheet in just one of his last five games, so that could change soon.

Landeskog netted a goal, adding an assist and four hits in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Sharks.

Landeskog notched his first multi-point effort of the month, totaling seven on the year. The winger's hit count is also adding up -- 105 to date -- which is just another benefit of owning the 23-year-old Swede. The former first-round pick is inching towards another 50-point season, keeping him in fantasy lineups down the stretch.

Landeskog was the only one that found twine against the Blackhawks on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Landeskog is converting shots at a rate of 12.7 percent this season, a career-high pace. Unfortunately, he's on track to put the puck on net 175 times, and that's 39 fewer attempts than he had in 2014-15. Landeskog apologists would still point out that he's on track to eclipse the 20-goal plateau for the third straight year.

Landeskog scored two goals in Wednesday's win over the Kings, giving him 13 in 48 games this season.

EDGE Analysis

The Avalanche captain is on pace to top the 20-goal mark for the fourth time in his career, and has now found the back of the net three times in his last three games. Landeskog's minus-four rating is representative of Colorado's mediocrity, but his top-notch combination of skill and grit will continue to make the 23-year-old an excellent fantasy option for the rest of the season.

Landeskog scored the overtime game-winner in Wednesday's 4-3 victory over St. Louis. He also recorded five shots and a plus-1 rating in 17:44 of ice time.

EDGE Analysis

The Avalanche captain came in clutch with his first game-winning goal of the season following an eight-game goalless drought. This was only his sixth game of the season with at least five shots on goal, so perhaps it will mark the start of an offensive turnaround for the slumping Landeskog.

Landeskog will suit up for Thurday's game against the Blackhawks despite taking a puck to the face on Monday in San Jose, The Denver Post reports.

The injury occurred in Monday's game against the Sharks when a slap shot from Dylan DeMelo rolled up Ladeskog's stick and tagged him in the left eye. Luckily for Landeskog, he was wearing a visor, preventing any significant injury from occurring, and was able to pass all concussion protocols afterward. The captain has notched a goal and four assists over the last seven games since his return from a two game suspension.
