Anaheim has sent goaltender Frederik Andersen to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.
This is the corresponding move to the recall of Viktor Fasth, who is expected to remain with Anaheim as the backup to Jonas Hiller for the remainder of the season. Look for Andersen to get the bulk of the work for the Admirals going forward.

Frederik Andersen has been called up by the Anaheim Ducks.
Andersen has a 2.48 GAA and .924 save percentage in 21 AHL games this season. Viktor Fasth was sent to the minors to get some extra playing time following a hip injury, so Andersen has an outside chance of making the Ducks as a backup goaltender. That being said, even if Andersen is part of the Ducks' opening game roster, it probably won't be a permanent gig.

Frederik Andersen has been hot lately with the AHL Norfolk Admirals.
Andersen has allowed just five goals in four games this month. That's brought his GAA down to 2.38 in 15 contests this season. He's expected to spend the entire season in the AHL, even if the lockout ends.

Frederick Andersen's tremendous play in goal is making it difficult for coach Trent Yawney to use Igor Bobkov.
Bobkov started the season as Norfolk's top goalie but Andersen got his chance and has not looked back. Andersen has allowed only five goals in his last four games to lead the Admirals to a 3-0-1 mark while stopping 128 shots for a .962 save percentage. He is 7-6-0 this season with a 2.38 GAA and a .928 save percentage while Bobkov has been the worst goalie in the AHL with a 3.99 GAA to go with a .886 save percentage and a 3-6-0 record. No wonder Yawney is using the Danish netminder so much.

Frederick Andersen was stellar once again for the Admirals on Sunday as Norfolk defeated Bridgeport 4-1.
It was the second straight win for the Ducks farm team as Andersen stopped 61 of 63 shots on the weekend for the pair of victories. He has taken over as the starter from Igor Bobkov to establish himself as Anaheim's top netminder in the minors. Andersen was selected in the third round of the 2012 Draft after he refused to sign with Carolina who drafted him in the seventh round of the 2010 Draft. The native of Denmark will be worth looking at in a few years.
