Karlsson notched a goal on six shot attempts and set up Kyle Turris' game-winning power-play tally in Saturday's 5-3 triumph over the Maple Leafs.
By his lofty standards, Karlsson got out of the blocks a little bit slow to start the season, producing 33 points and a minus-5 rating over 46 games prior to the All-Star break. Since then, he's tallied eight goals, 25 points, and a plus-13 rating over 25 games, earning him plenty of credit for reviving the Senators' playoff hopes. He now holds a four-point cushion over the Pens' Kris Letang for the NHL scoring lead among blueliners, and could flirt with 70 points again if he maintains his pace since the All-Star break the rest of the way.

Karlsson assisted on both Ottawa goals -- one on the power play -- and dished out five hits Tuesday in a 2-1 overtime win against Carolina.
It wasn't all sunshine and roses, as he did have four giveaways, but it's hard to take issue with a guy who's this productive. The physicality is a nice -- and unexpected -- bonus, as the five hits tied his season high, set back on Nov. 29.

Karlsson scored twice and added an assist on the power play Thursday in a 5-2 win over Montreal.
He'd missed the scoresheet twice in a row, so it's nice to see the NHL's top defenseman back in the box score in a big way. Most forwards around the league can only dream of matching the blueliner's totals of 18 goals and 53 points through 66 games.

Karlsson collected two assists in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Canadiens.Wednesday marked Karlsson's fourth straight game with two assists, as he has looked much more like himself recently. He was still a great fantasy defenseman, but with 44 points in 56 games to date, he's now only three points behind Mark Giordano for the NHL lead among defensemen.

Karlsson added two assists from the back end in Saturday's 7-2 rout of the Oilers. He also skated to a plus-2 and took two shots on goal.Karlsson is up to 40 points on the year, one shy of Bobby Ryan for the team lead. More importantly, though -- can you believe this guy has 200 (!) shots on goal? That's fifth in the entire NHL, and while it'd be nice if he had converted more than 13 of those into goals, Karlsson is an absolute godsend in leagues that count SOG.

Karlsson sniped a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 7-2 thrashing of the Coyotes. He also skated to a plus-3 rating.
Karlsson was one of six (!) Senators to post a multi-point effort in this one, and is now up to 12 goals, 23 assists and a whopping 184 shots on goal this year. Despite the fact that Ottawa is 11 points out of a playoff spot and doesn't have the most prolific offense, Karlsson is still an elite d-man and should be deployed regularly in all leagues.
