Karlsson picked up two assists while adding three shots and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 5-3 win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Since not being moved at the trade deadline, Karlsson has looked like a man reborn, racking up four multi-point showings in seven games for a total of 10 points (two goals, eight assists). Sens fans shouldn't get their hopes up that he'll still be in Ottawa next season, but wherever the 27-year-old is playing he should remain one of the elite fantasy defensemen in the NHL.

Karlsson scored the game-winning goal and added an assist during Monday's 3-2 overtime victory against Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Now up to three goals and 14 assists through his past 17 games dating back to Feb. 1, Karlsson is quieting any criticism about his play. A lot has gone wrong for Ottawa this season, and with a lot of potential off-ice distractions in play for the star defenseman, fantasy owners should be thrilled with his improved production. Additionally, considering his track record, it wouldn't be surprising if his strong run continued through the end of the season, either.

Karlsson posted three assists and a plus-3 rating in a 5-4 victory over the Golden Knights on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
It's been an absolutely dreadful season for the two-time Norris Trophy winner, but Friday was a very good night. He recorded his first three-point game since early January and snapped a five-game streak where he posted a negative rating. Still, Karlsson owns just six goals and a minus-28 rating this season, giving him his worst production since he was injured in 2012-13.

Karlsson had a goal, a power-play assist and a minus-1 rating in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Still a Senator after the trade deadline, Karlsson was plagued by his usual rating woes even on this two-point night. He's now a dreadful minus-31 in that category to go with 44 points in 57 games. While most defensemen would take that offensive production in a heartbeat, it's far below the lofty standard Karlsson has set for himself with an average of 73.3 points per campaign over the previous four.

Karlsson said that he's happy to be staying with the Senators and never wanted to leave the club, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports
EDGE Analysis
This is a significant change from the expectation in the Ottawa media that Karlsson will be dealt after the season now that the trade deadline has passed. Karlsson owns a home in Ottawa and seems genuine in his desire to remain in Canada's capital, but he's also said in the past that he will not take a hometown discount to remain with the Senators. It seems likely that Karlsson will assess his team's possible future in July, when he would be eligible to either sign a contract extension or play out his final year on his current deal.

Karlsson was not traded ahead of Monday's deadline, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson was linked to just about every one of the other 30 NHL teams, but ultimately will not be leaving the Senators. The blueliner carries a $6.5 million cap hit, which likely made moving him cost prohibitive this late in the year. Don't be surprised to see Ottawa revisit any offers it received for the 27-year-old during the upcoming offseason, as he will be an unrestricted free agent following the 2018-19 campaign.

Karlsson arrived at Ottawa's scheduled practice Monday, just hours before the 3 p.m. trade deadline.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson did not speak to reporters, allowing speculation to run wild concerning his final destination. Tampa Bay, Washington, Nashville and Vegas remain the favorites to land the world-class defenseman, and all would help Karlsson's already high fantasy value if Ottawa finds an offer it likes.

Tampa Bay is emerging as a serious contender to acquire Karlsson before the trade deadline, reports Sportsnet.ca.
EDGE Analysis
Nashville is also in the hunt, but the Sens are currently insisting on Bobby Ryan and his $7.25 million cap hit included in the deal. That limits the landing spot if Karlsson is to move -- Ryan's contract is an albatross. There's a chance that a four-team deal between Tampa, Ottawa, Montreal and Las Vegas is also in the mix. Much of it is hyperbole, but where there is smoke, there is some kind of fire. This could get very interesting before mid-day Monday.

Karlsson, whose name has commonly surfaced in trade rumors, will suit up for the Senators against the Flyers on Saturday afternoon, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ideally, the Senators would like to retain Karlsson, but that won't stop potential suitors from getting Senators GM Pierre Dorion on the horn to discuss trade possibilities. Still, it looks like the stud defenseman will be safe to play as normal for this matinee.

The Predators have "chatted" with the Senators about Karlsson ahead of Monday's trade deadline, The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's no secret that Predators GM David Poile has an affinity for talented defensemen, and we assume that it was worth his time to at least inquire about the possibility of acquiring one of the league's best in Karlsson, who has won the Norris Trophy twice in his career along with the honor of playing in three All-Star Games. However, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic considers Karlsson to Nashville a "longshot at best." The trade deadline is an exciting time for fantasy owners, but we wouldn't make any hasty moves based on what's been churning in the rumor mill.
